I was expecting this followup to Fallout 4 to be really awesome. I pre-ordered. But then started doing a lot of research before its release. The engine is showing its age, the lighting comes out of the ground like “god rays”, the enemy characters almost appear harmless or not a real challenge. Todd Howard joked at E3 that apparently “our games have bugs” as if that was hilarious. He should really have issued an apology and focused on dealing with these in-game issues, there is no actual story, what Fallout is known for the NPCs are replaced by “real players”, whose voices can be heard when your not even playing with them, and tapes/recordings, pointless quest lines… $99, now its on sale at Mightyape for $89… What will be next on Boxing Day Sale- The game is very disappointing. I cancelled my pre-order first to save money and focus on BF5 but then after watching previews, reviews and online game-play of others playing I knew I made the right decision. Even Battlefield 5 has been somewhat of a let down… another story… No disrespect to Mightyape as they provide a wonderful online customer service and it is always a pleasure dealing with them and receiving items from Mightyape. 2018 has proven another disappointing year for AAA games, expensive, unfinished games with content that is “coming soon.” Fallout 76 is taking a bashing in reviews on Youtube, Metacritic, etc. Some players have sunken tons of hours into the game, leveled up as high as they can go, released footage of the bad bugs that should not exist in today's day and age. I have honestly actually enjoyed some of the reviews and online game-play rather than the game itself. I think sadly that it is objectively a bad game. It will take a lot of work to repair this game, that sounds like a lot of big GB updates, unfortunately I will have to pass. Bethesda game studios must learn from this given they have 2 other major games in the works in the next few years.
