Mediocre and needs a lot of work

I loved Fallout 4 but I struggled to love this game. It was like they took the best parts of 4, stripped them out and exposed all of the flaws. There was a fair amount of lag, freezing and glitches ranging from technical to visual. Story was reduced to holotapes and soul less robots/NPCs to create tedious and uninteresting quests. While there is exploration like in 4, you're reduced to collecting rubbish to scrap for weapons, armour and ammo. The only redeeming part was the music used from the radio stations which I thought were fun to listen to. Overall I was left feeling extremely disappointed with the game. I hope they overhaul the game over time and make it a quality game. For now, it's best to avoid this title.

This one's a bit premature

Fan of the series so was eagerly awaiting the release. Day 1 50GB patch followed by a 40GB+ patch a few days after. Still plenty of bugs like not saving quest completions and a few times it's frozen up. Pretty sure Bethesda are equal opportunity employers and got a bunch of Super Mutants to write the code. Wait till it's on sale maybe.

Rushed

Fun game but ultimately feels rushed and unfinished. Big oof.

I'm not angry just disappointed

mighty apes shipping was lightning fast and arrived on the release date despite the our rural shipping, 76 is devoid of excitement and it's just a constant grind with no reward in a vast empty world. the few redeeming points of this experience dont make up for this bland rushed game. i will never pre order a bethesda game studios game or products from one of there publishers again. why did they do this to my favorite franchise.

Fallout 76's 2018 fail

I was expecting this followup to Fallout 4 to be really awesome. I pre-ordered. But then started doing a lot of research before its release. The engine is showing its age, the lighting comes out of the ground like “god rays”, the enemy characters almost appear harmless or not a real challenge. Todd Howard joked at E3 that apparently “our games have bugs” as if that was hilarious. He should really have issued an apology and focused on dealing with these in-game issues, there is no actual story, what Fallout is known for the NPCs are replaced by “real players”, whose voices can be heard when your not even playing with them, and tapes/recordings, pointless quest lines… $99, now its on sale at Mightyape for $89… What will be next on Boxing Day Sale- The game is very disappointing. I cancelled my pre-order first to save money and focus on BF5 but then after watching previews, reviews and online game-play of others playing I knew I made the right decision. Even Battlefield 5 has been somewhat of a let down… another story… No disrespect to Mightyape as they provide a wonderful online customer service and it is always a pleasure dealing with them and receiving items from Mightyape. 2018 has proven another disappointing year for AAA games, expensive, unfinished games with content that is “coming soon.” Fallout 76 is taking a bashing in reviews on Youtube, Metacritic, etc. Some players have sunken tons of hours into the game, leveled up as high as they can go, released footage of the bad bugs that should not exist in today's day and age. I have honestly actually enjoyed some of the reviews and online game-play rather than the game itself. I think sadly that it is objectively a bad game. It will take a lot of work to repair this game, that sounds like a lot of big GB updates, unfortunately I will have to pass. Bethesda game studios must learn from this given they have 2 other major games in the works in the next few years.

This is the most broken and un fun game i think ive ever played you spend your time wandering around an empty wasteland populated only by the occasional broken and buggy monster to fight and robots to buy stuff from thats the whole game

Bad

I think I purchased this game to early. The game base building seems pointless. PvP needs work. Story is mechanical. I think this game has potential, but was rushed on release.

If you liked Fallout 4 vanilla you will like this.

The game is ok there are some issues: server stability, graphical glitches and some sound problems. But even with that you can have fun in the game, it is a good time waster with some of the same enemy types from fallout 4 and a few new ones. The perk card system is interesting allowing the creation of some OP or underpowerd builds. Online play can offer opportunities to team up and explore in a group or you can go it alone and not see another person for hours. All in all a ok game, if you like Fallout 4 vanilla you will like this.

Smash and Grab

Bathesda have takin the dark path. Basically Fallout 4 with less features, no NPC and online. Bugs found everywhere. Buy after 2–3 years when its fixed and micro-transactions are minimal. Youtube gameplay from a respectable streamer for evidence

Spend more time updating than playing , world not suited to onli

One of my favourite series Fallout has lost it's mojo ,open world with timed quests requires uninterrupted play. The open world explore is made totally frustrating by the inability to pause.
