I'm a bonafide soccer fanatic and a loyal fan of the FIFA series. Having set up those credentials, I can't quite put my finger on what is off target with this year's annual installment.

While gamers anxiously await the arrival of next generation games in November, EA Sports reminds us that there are still great games on this generation. While not completely perfect, FIFA 14 delivers on its promise of an improved and lasting gameplay experience.

, a series that has very much raced out of the gate and dominated-its own sport at first, then the wider landscape of sports games in general-the better part of the cycle, maybe now is the time when the option that makes the most business and creative sense is to play it safe and save its bullets...

With annual updates, the developers must feel as if it's a rather big challenge to get you to buy a game in a particular franchise every single year. The FIFA series is a good example of this.

FIFA has been seen to be largely ahead of Pro Evo for a number of years now. But as the generation draws to a close, does this latest version rest upon its laurels?

In general I like this game. there are some things with ball control I don't like, it never drops speed when landed, for example: if you miss the pass you never gonna catch it because it's running too fast. Tricks are easy to do. Easier to play than PES2014. Graphics are good too.

Excellent gameplay and lots of great game modes. I could go on and on about why its so good but I can't be bothered. 4 stars and not 5 because for it to be a 5 it would have to be perfect and what it is still lacking is better commentary and I would like to hear the commentators talking about each...

It came in the mail very quickly and I have not stopped playing it since, in fact my girlfriend has dumped me now and all I have left is Fifa14. thanks EA sports.

Great game!  Fifa 14 is relatively slower than 13, but more realistic simulation.  Gameplay graphics is smooth and the players seems to be moving into open space smarter than before.   I bought both Fifa 14 and PES 14 and liked this better. Only compliant is the interface transition is rather slow.
