Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740

With the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740, you get fast printing, reasonable running costs, an auto-duplexing ADF, and a wealth of mobile connectivity features. Compared with other AIOs like the Canon MB5420 and the HP 7740, the WF-4740 delivers a wider range of features and functionality for the price.

Excellent print quality overall; Auto-duplexing ADF; Competitively low running costs; Supports Wi-Fi Direct and NFC; Fast for its class

No multipurpose tray; Small output tray; Slightly expensive

Like the Printer Unfortunately the print head tends to fail

I buy Epson and when they work they are great, but expect probably print head failure. That is the only issue I have had with all of them. I wish they would fix that. My last printer only got 10 months out of it before print head died. Lucky it was under warranty and they sent me a refurbished one.

STUDENTS BEWARE

I bought this printer about a year ago, and I have regretted it ever since. The worst issue is the way it guzzles ink, and the price of ink in general. To replace all the ink cartridges you'll pay about 120 dollars, and from the website the standard yield should be 900 pages for black ink, and 650...

Awesome printer and a great price!

This Epson WorkForce Pro is an awesome printer. It literally has everything I need for my home office in one. First off the ink cartridges are super easy to install. The printer is faster than any other printer I have encountered. Scanning and copying are a breeze and faxing goes through in seconds!

Likes: Dual paper sources allow using preprinted forms (like checks) and plain paper . WiFi networking is simple to set up and reliable. Relatively trouble free in normal use. Dislikes: Expensive ink cartridges, and software limited to prevent the use of aftermarket or remanufactured units.

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 Review

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 ($299.99) is a more robust version of the Editors' Choice WF-4720, a business-centric inkjet all-in-one (AIO) printer. For the difference in price (about $100), you get twice the paper input capacity, a larger automatic document feeder (ADF) that supports two-sided scanning, and a bigger color touch screen. Like its less-expensive sibling, it prints well and quickly, and comes with a wide range of connectivity options. The WF-4740 ($299.99 at Dell) is more expensive than our current Editors' Choice, the Canon Maxify MB2720 Wireless Home Office All-in-One Printer ($229.99 at Amazon) , but it's faster, prints a little better, and comes with several additional useful features, making it our new first choice for low-to-moderate print volume in a small workgroup or micro office. Lean and Mean At 13 by 16.7 by 19.8 inches (HWD) and 26 pounds, the WF-4740 is significantly taller and longer from front to back than the WF-4720 and weighs about 6 pounds mor...

The WF-4740 prints well and fast, and it supports just about every midrange business-centric inkjet feature available, including Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, and two-sided scanning.
