Great Projector

Very happy indeed with this projector... really great value for money. Purchased for home cinema use because of the throw. It's sold as an office/classroom model so it's not natively HDMI but it performs brilliantly from my sources using both the HDMI and VIdeo connections.

Epson PowerLite 955WH WXGA 3LCD Projector

The Epson PowerLite 955WH WXGA 3LCD Projector ($899) delivers all the right features to make it worth a close look. Key points on the checklist include a 3,200-lumen brightness rating, a 1.6X zoom lens, and a long lamp life to help keep running costs down.

Suitably bright for a small to midsize room; Native WXGA (1,280-by-800) resolution; 1.6X zoom; Near-excellent quality for data images; Better-than-typical video for a data projector

Epson PowerLite 955WH Projector Review

The Epson PowerLite 955WH is a compact classroom projector offering a very bright image and features well suited to the typical classroom environment. It projects a very sharp image, with its native 1280 x 800 resolution, and offers picture modes providing good color accuracy.

very sharp display with good focus over the entire image; very little color fringing visible on displayed text; even when viewed up very close and none visible for normal viewing distance; indicating good alignment of LCD panels and also good optics with a low level of chromatic aberration,...

remote can be difficult to operate in a dark room; since it has no backlight; dust filter that must be maintained; a relatively high black level and a modest contrast ratio means this projector is not the ideal choice for critical video viewing (such as might be desired for a film arts class) in a...

Great Value

The 955WH has good flexibility, excellent image quality, and is fairly easy to setup. With 2 VGA w/audio, 2 HDMI. composite, USB, LAN, wireless LAN, and S-video, along with audio output for connection to a sound system if needed you have great flexibility with this unit.

Epson EB-955W Projector: Review

Whenever I've received a projector for review, I've noticed that my viewing habits change somewhat. Whereas before I'd spend more time gaming on my PC, and limiting my TV viewing to just sports and the occasional movie, I now spend most of my viewing time with the projector.

Epson PowerLite 955W WXGA 3LCD Projector Review

The Epson PowerLite 955W WXGA 3LCD Projector ($899) offers the same WXGA (1,280-by-800) resolution and the same 3,000-lumen brightness rating as the Epson EX6220 WXGA 3LCD Projector($522.00 at Amazon Canada) that I recently reviewed. Just like its less-expensive cousin, it delivers excellent quality for data images and better-than-typical video for a data projector. The biggest difference is that it substitutes a 1.6x zoom lens for a 1.2x zoom, which justifies the higher price, and helps make the 955W($522.00 at Amazon Canada) our Editors' Choice for WXGA projectors for a small to midsize room. The 1.6x zoom makes the 955W a head-to-head competitor with the Editors' Choice NEC NP-M311W($522.00 at Amazon Canada). The NEC projector offers the same resolution as both Epson models and essentially the same brightness, but outdoes the 955W's zoom slightly, with its 1.7x, rather than 1.6x, zoom. That gives you even more flexibility in how far you can put the projector from the screen fo...

The Epson PowerLite 955W WXGA 3LCD Projector delivers high-quality data images and far-better-than-typical video quality for a data projector.
