Best USB Mic. Period.

I've been using this mic for a few months now after switching from a competitor, and I am thoroughly impressed with what Elgato has done, not only with the microphone itself, but also with the Wave Link software. Setup was a breeze- download the software, plug in the mic, and start setting up audio channels. The mic looks fantastic, and I don't mind having it in-frame during streams and video calls. The materials feel premium and solid, definitely not going to fall apart any time soon. Wave Link has greatly improved my stream quality, but I even use the mixer features when I'm offline and multitasking during my day. I would give it way more stars if I could.

The best USB mic on the market

I have used tons of USB and XLR mics over the years and I have mostly avoided USB mics whenever possible because of the notoriously bad sound quality. But, the Wave line of mics changes with the awesome balance of hardware and software. Clipguard alone makes this the best USB mic, but the fact that you also get a software mixer that can pair perfectly with a Stream Deck knocks it out of the park Note: I am an Elgato Partner and received this product at no cost. My opinions on this product are honest and my own. I only endorse products I actually approve of and that I would (or did) spend my own money on

Learning curve

I received this a few months ago and though it would be fairly easy. I do have to mention this is my first time ever using a USB mic and I'm brand new to streaming. The feel and look of the mic itself is great. The setup and installation was pretty straight forward. The problem I had was issues to actually set it up with Streamlabs and my system. There are some videos out there but I don't feel they are in depth enough to get a noob going and I feel this is what this mic is marketed to. I could be wrong and my overall outlook of it is still great. Just a bit more research than I expected.

Really enjoying the experience, but...

Elgato Wave 3 as a mic is great. The mic does what its supposed to. The Wavelink that is a companion to the mic is awesome, but I think still needs some adjustments. Overall the experience for the mic is enjoyable. The mic is easy to set up; pretty much plug and play. The software takes a bit of time to get used to and accepting that it has flaws. What I really enjoy about the mic and companion software is that you can link all your desktop apps to specific channels to toggle their volume whenever you want. Overall, its a great product I enjoy it.

Has been a struggle from the start

We purchased this for my husband a few months back and it has been issue after issue. There is this horrible underwater sound and his voice cuts out constantly. We've spoke with Elgato support and did everything they asked, nothing changed. My audiotechnica works flawlessly and I have been wanting a Wave:3 but now... I'm not so sure. Elgato support is very slow to respond and the product is very poor quality. All we want is a replacement or some sort of action from the support team. I hope no one else has this much trouble.

Elgato Wave: 3 Review

The are many different USB microphones on the market to suit a wide range of uses. The Elgato Wave: 3 is best for gamers who stream and podcasters who want a mic that sounds good out of the box with little tinkering necessary. At $159.99, it’s neither cheap nor too expensive, and its price is in line with its overall quality. It's simple to use thanks to onboard level controls, it has a built-in headphone jack for low-latency monitoring, and the signal quality is strong. There’s some innovative analog-digital hybrid processing in play to keep the signal from clipping, which is useful for gamers and podcasters, but might sound a little too processed for musical vocalists.Design The Wave: 3 is a condenser mic with a black eggshell-like finish and a built-in stand with a circular weighted base. The mic and stand measure approximately 8 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide (for the mic), while the base is a little over 4 inches in diameter. An included adapter allows you to disconnect the ...

The Elgato Wave: 3 is a solid USB microphone with a user-friendly design that's better suited for podcasters and streamers than musicians.

Solid, clean audio signal; Low-latency monitoring; Easy-to-operate onboard level controls; Built-in stand; Free software for blending various audio sources when streaming

No switchable mic patterns; No pop filter included
