The latest generation of wireless networks - 802.11ac - offers a lot of potential, with transfer speeds of up to 867Mbps with a single 5GHz antennae and wider coverage. While a stream of wireless AC routers have been brought out, most devices still have built-in 802.11n adaptors.
Very stable connection from Basement to my Asus AC3200 router on main floor. Can easily stream large video files without stuttering. Very happy with the adapter. Plug and play installation by Windows 10. No need to install drivers manually.
The driver settings that worked best for me at the maximum 867.0 Mbps were (on Advanced tab of adapter settings in Device Manager): BeamCap = VHT BEAM TX|RX AND HT BEAM TX|RX EnableAdaptivity = Disable LdpcCap = VHT LDPC TX|RX AND HT LDPC TX|RX QoS Support = Support QoS StbcCap = VHT STBC TX|RX AND...
Cheap price and very good performance! In 802.11ac USB network adapter tests on SmallNetBuilder; this adapter received almost as high a score as the top-performing 2T2R ASUS adapter; but at roughly half the cost.
As other reviews have stated, the included CD is not the best driver; Download the latest from Edimax's website; The default driver settings are suboptimal (for example, beamforming is disabled by default), and need tweaking after installation (see Other Thoughts)
Needed an adapter to work with my jvc gy-hm 200sp , was able to stream live with no problem .
I order this item online. Staples matched the price. I tried this item on W10 desktop. It worked right away. No problem in set up. Good price with match, otherwise it is little expensive.
The Edimax AC1200 Wireless Dual-Band Adapter is the second pre-draft 802.11ac adapter I've tested. The first was D-Link's Wireless AC1200 Dual Band USB Adapter (DWA-182) . The D-Link adapter provided few throughput gains when paired with an 11ac router as compared with a 3x3 802.11n adapter and the...
Blazing throughput in 802.11ac mode
Throughput more on average in other 802.11x modes; Dropped some speed at distance from router
purchased this for one of my old laptops so I could connect it to my home's wireless network. it did the trick perfectly. a good cheap wireless usb adapter.
