Dragon Quest is celebrating a major milestone in 2016 for its 30th anniversary, with the series spawning plenty of different games over the years. Outside the mainline games, the series has tackled a number of other genres like last year's Dragon Quest Heroes.
Dragon Quest charm; Easy to use control scheme; Freedom to build
Combat too simple; X button usage
Square Enix's Dragon Quest series has been somewhat in the shadows over in the West, despite the mammoth reputation it has over in its homeland of Japan, but the company is working hard to raise the profile more and more.
Great game... spent about 40 hours so far and still going strong! I've always been a Dragon Quest fan - this is a good cross between DQ/Legoworld/MineCraft

Dragon quest builders tries to do what Minecraft didn't... Tell a story, and it does it well. You've great story telling mixed with Minecraft building, it's done really well.

It's an alternate reality that begins where the original game ends, but with a twist: the hero from the first game didn't defeat the...
Engrossing crafting and building systems; Endearing enemies help the hours fly by; Rewarding quests; Invasions introduce superb tower-defense gameplay
Disappointing lack of cross-save given identical content between platforms
The Switch handles Builders fairly well, although sometimes the control scheme can get a little hairy. Moving the character with the left stick then trying to select items with the left butttons isn't always comfortable, and the camera sometimes misleads me on where I'm dropping an item.
Great new approach to Minecraft; Quirky Dragon Quest humor and music; Handheld mode IS THE BEST
Camera sometimes doesn't cooperate; Controls can get uncomfortable at times; No auto-saving; which can be a game killer
