Welcome Dishonored, the "thief-like" assassination simulator that gives the power back to the player. Dark, mysterious, and razor-sharp deadly - this one is something special.
Freedom in how you complete each mission; Interesting setting and plot filled with complex layering; Satisfying combat (if you actually get into a fight; Constant feeling of progression and reward; Great stealth game; for those who like lurking in shadows; Lots of replay value for a single player...
The plot might not grab everyone, Gameplay might be too easy or slow, if you're looking for a straight up shooter, Leaves you wanting more..; oh wait, is that a good thing
With this years Video Game BAFTA's not long finished, and the similarly themed Thief reboot just announced; it seems timely to revisit the modern classic that rightfully won for ‘Best Game', Dishonored . Few titles truly stand out in the first person genre due to a lack of innovation.
There is so much to talk about with Dishonored, from the superb sound design and dialogue, to the unexpected pleasures in discovering various ways you can subvert the systems in the game, be it reprogramming security turrets or using possession to walk guards off of balcony’s, but the proof really...
You may have noticed that this Dishonored review is a bit late than it normally would be - and for good reason. Every time I tried to sit down and write about the new stealth, action game from Bethesda and Arkane Studios, my mind began to wander.
