Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review: Plus-sized reversible greatness

Dell has never shied away from Windows-powered greatness. In recent years alone the firm has delivered two bona-fide classics, the XPS 13 and the larger-screened XPS 15 alternative .

Best in class performance; Pixel-perfect 15in display; Well-priced

Maglev keyboard won't be to everybody's tastes

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review

Dell has been on a tear with its redesigns in 2018. On top of a daring overhaul on its flagship Ultrabook, the Dell XPS 13 , the Round Rock-based company has completely reinvented the Dell XPS 15 into a 2-in-1 laptop.

Impressive processing and graphical power on a single chip; Surprisingly tactile maglev keyboard; Ultra-thin design for a gaming-capable laptop

Radeon settings software needs a fix; Runs very loud during a heavy load; Little expensive

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 Review

The XPS 15 2-in-1 looks like any other laptop in the XPS family . In fact, you may not be able to tell it apart from its older brother, the XPS 15. Outside of the new hinge, it has all the hallmarks of the XPS laptops we've come to know and love.

G-series chip provides great gaming performance; Exceptional build quality and design; One of the best laptop displays you can buy; Quick storage and processing; Good value for the hardware

New keyboard is just okay; Lackluster battery life in 4K model; Runs loud and hot

At CES earlier this year, strutted out a few new products, including its with a 360-degree hinge. It is the first XPS 15 to adopt the convertible 2-in-1 form factor, providing customers with flexible use case scenarios, like folding the display all the way back onto itself to become a tablet, or...

Great graphics and gaming performance; Quad-core Intel Kaby Lake G CPU handles multi-threaded tasks with ease; Thin and light design; Gorgeous thin-bezel InfinityEdge display; Premium build-quality; 1080p and 4K display options

Some may find 15-inch form factor big for a 2-in-1; Fans kick in quickly when stressing the CPU or GPU; Middling battery life; Awkward webcam placement

This is an overpriced garbage computer that won't last you a year

Avoid this over priced buggy garbage tablet before you learn a 2K lesson like I did. I should have taken it back a month in when it had flickering screen issues. Now 6 months into owning it the computer won't charge.

Dell XPS 15

The Dell XPS 15 is the currently the best mainstream laptop you can buy today

Best in class build; Bezel-less display; Excellent battery life; Weighs just 1.8 kilograms

I hate it

No decipherable manual. Set up OK thanks to Windows. Battery doesnt seem to be charging. When you remove the connection lead to transport it even to another room, it turns itself off and doesn't restart unless attached to the mains. The battery warning light flashes all the time.

Dell has hit a rich seam of form in recent years. Now, it's taken the elegant carbon-fibre and metal design of the XPS 13 and again scaled it up to bring the company's stylish 15in laptop, the Dell XPS 15, into 2017.

Dell XPS 15 review: Solid performance with a 4K InfinityEdge display

We're not strangers to the Dell XPS laptop lineup here at Techaeris and have usually come away impressed. Our Dell XPS 15 review takes a look at the larger touchscreen version of the popular lineup with some pretty decent upgrades for 2017.

Sleek design; Comfortable typing and palm rest; Stellar display; NVIDIA graphics card; Clear speakers; Great performance; Decent battery life

Speakers could be better on the bass end; Would be nice for a tent or tablet mode; Heavy glare when in bright lighting conditions

The Dell XPS 15 is a fantastic laptop. Sure it has a premium price tag, but it also has premium features with a jaw-dropping 4K display, strong performance, and a well built portable design. One of the strongest selling points of this device is its versatility.

Gorgeous 4K display; Crisp; clear audio; Strong Performance

Expensive; Shallow key depth
