This monitor replaced a 15 year old apple cinema display that hit the pile. Definitely recommended for both quality and price. Additional points for integrated USB and other ports.

Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" IPS Monitor , 1920 x 1200 , DVI+DisplayPort+VGA, Height-Adjustable stand pivot tilt ,
Nice sharp image and 1200 vertical resolution makes a difference for text. Colour balance adjustment takes some doing but can be done, making it very usable for amature level photography - better costs big bucks.

Very Good
I got this monitor because my older version was starting to show it's age. It lasted many years and I would expect these to do the same. Quality is good no fault so far.

Although not as pleasing a design as newer monitors, this monitor performs well and has great features. I have had it next to Dell's U2414H and am more impressed with this one.
Pros:
- Colours
- brightness
- ports
- anti-glare
Cons:
- A little bulky

Good but not great
Even at four years after it was introduced, the U2412M remains an excellent overall performer in its price range. It is a comfortable screen to work with. Color accuracy and useable contrast are good, and viewing angles excellent.
Pros:
- We have half a dozen of these monitors in our office
- Newegg's latest price reduction spurred another buy
- We are a photography shop, and use these panels as second or third displays for holding palette panels, open documents, etc
- The U2412M is getting to be old and is being replaced by the U2415.
Cons:
- Out-of-box color and gamma calibration are all over the place
- As mentioned above, this isn't an issue if you have a monitor calibration tool available

Dell UltraSharp U2412M Black 24" Widescreen LED Monitor
The DELL U2412M is a 24-inch IPS panel display in a widescreen (16:10) resolution, operating at 1920 x 1200. It features a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 16.7 million display colors, and an LED backlight, though the response time might be a bit longer than some action-focused gamers look for at 8ms.

I like it
Fit the space and the picture quality seems pretty good.

high res price difference is not worth.
It is unique product with its resolution. It is not really worth the price difference. I would not recommend to anyone unless price drops below $200. I would expect a difference of $20 between normal resolution and this monitor.
