Dell UltraSharp U3011 Review
Dell's 30-inch U3011 features an anti-glare hard coat to reduce reflections, and the 2560x1600 display tilts, swivels, and is height adjustable, but it can't pivot into portrait mode. The monitor is outfitted with two HDMI and two DVI ports, as well as one analog VGA and one DisplayPort input.
Pros:
- Great text reproduction
- vibrant colors
Cons:
- Small amount of moire
- no portrait mode

Dell UltraSharp U3011
Against most of the competition Dell's newest monitor, the U3011, looks a suave, sophisticated individual. Where its rivals resemble huge lumpen monoliths on a desk, the Dell's squared-off edges and two-tone finish make it look worth every penny of its asking price.

Dell UltraSharp U3011 review: Dell UltraSharp U3011
The Dell UltraSharp U3011 is an impressive monitor and the most feature-rich 30-incher out there. Simply put, the Dell UltraSharp U3011 is the best 30-inch monitor we've yet seen. Not only does it deliver great performance--which is expected from most devices running at a 2,560x1,600 resolution--but it also has tons of connection options and an OSD with a surprisingly high number of calibration features. The only problem is the price. At $1,349, it's about $400 more expensive than the 27-inch Dell UltraSharp U2711, which includes mostly the same features, with less real estate. The U2711 is still the best overall large-screen monitor, but if 27 inches just isn't enough, the U3011 is a fully capable alternative.
Pros:
- The Dell UltraSharp U3011 has incredible performance
- tons of connection options
- and enough OSD features to satisfy most professional artists.
Cons:
- The Dell UltraSharp U3011 has a higher price than other 30-inchers.

Excellent Monitor that is showing its age
The Dell U3011 has been out for over a year now, other companies are releasing LED backlight monitors but most of them are not 10 bit color. Many say that 10 bit color is not needed and most people don't have the hardware to support it anyway.
Pros:
- High connectivity, Dual HDMI, Dual DVI, VGA, DP and composite connectors
- Has Active and passive USB extension from PC and xD/SD/MS and MMC right on the side of the monitor
- Fine dot pitch, IPS panel
- Factory calibrated and supports Adobe RGB and 10bit color.
Cons:
- Expensive! CCFL and not LED backlight
- If switching between inputs sometimes the U3011 will not see signal and requires poweroff/on sequence to wake it back up
- No rotate to verticle support
- The monitor requires a warm up period before maximum color accuracy is achieved (about 5 minutes).
