Against most of the competition Dell's newest monitor, the U3011, looks a suave, sophisticated individual. Where its rivals resemble huge lumpen monoliths on a desk, the Dell's squared-off edges and two-tone finish make it look worth every penny of its asking price.

I could go into glowing prose about the Dell monitor, but I opted for a short anecdotal review. You can read all about the specs and the features elsewhere. The real question is how does it compare to other monitors in real world use? The Dell u3011 is my third 30" monitor and the best of the bunch.
Pros:
- Big and bright
- lots of inputs and lots of tweaking control
Cons:
- Image scaler could be better
- Not an issue if you only run native resolution

Got one directly from Dell at a special price (1800 NZD) which is one of the best deals I have ever had :) I know if I would not get one, I will regret, and as expected this 30" IPS monitor just works great!

Great monitor you'll really like if you can handle the price.
This is a spectacular monitor that will delight your eyes every day you use it. It's sometimes hard justifying the price of a 30 inch monitor with 27 inchers being so much cheaper but that extra screen area is nice when you're working on it everyday.

Most Amazing Thing
I am Animator and VFX compositor. This monitor supports great with sRGB which is usually true film color. I compared its color with other monitors and to the film. This is more accurate than others.

If you are seriously considering dropping 1300 on a monitor you are either a professional or an idiot with money. I fall solidly in the latter category but I have yet to regret my purchase.

No service after warrantee expires - Don't Buy Dell
Purchased this monitor from Amazon it died 3 months after the warrantee expired. Dell says they only replace monitors that are under warrantee and have no repair service for monitors out of warrantee. So, stuck out of luck with an expensive piece of garbage.
