I've had two of these monitors from Dell now, and both show problems with colour uniformity. I'm really disappointed, because there's a lot to like about the resolution, clarity, and depth of colours, and there are loads of reviewers and owners raving about it.
Pros:
- Resolution
Cons:
- Colour Uniformity

Dell U2711
Dell U2711 has better "out-of-box" picture quality than 24-inch U2410 . Most colours are reproduced fairly accurate and the grey tones appear to be very accurate (which means that shadow detailing is good). Colour reproduction can be improved, though. Gamma is a bit too low.
Pros:
- Picture quality
- Functionality and inputs
- Ergonomic adjustability
- High resolution
- Shadow detail
- Viewing angles
- Blacks
Cons:
- Response time
- Price
- No pivot
- sRGB not as exact as on U2410
- Minor Overdrive trailing

Dell U2711
A look at the new 27" screen from Dell, following on from the recent U2410 model. The new screen offers a massive resolution and IPS panel technology. How does it perform and does it have any issues?
Pros:
- Ultra high resolution and large screen size
- Excellent for office work, CAD, design etc, Excellent colour accuracy once calibrated, available in all modes, Wide range of features, ergonomics and interfaces
Cons:
- Some RTC overshoot leaving dark trailing in moving image tests
- Mediocre input lag and lack of 'through mode
- Dysfunctional dynamic contrast ratio control

Dell UltraSharp U2711 LCD Monitor Review
Dell's UltraSharp U2711 is one of the best performing monitors we've seen; but at $1,049, its price will be prohibitive to some buyers. However, the U2711 earns its high price with incredible performance, a plethora of connection options, and the monitor's piece de resistance, its 2,560×1,440-pixel...

Dell UltraSharp U2711 Review
In the age of full HD, the size of the display plays an as big a role as the quality of the content does. The time of 19-inch monitors being large has now become passe and now one would consider any monitor with a size of 24-inch as average.

I had one unit that got very hot on its own. Dell shipped a new one to me next day, and I shipped my old one back in the box the replacement unit came in. Replaced with a certified refurbished unit. There's not much to complain about here. Great service, great warranty, great product.
