Dell UltraSharp U2711 lcd monitor
The screen uses an IPS panel (In-plane Switching) that can display colours better than most others, including Dell 's older 27-inch model the U2709W. In keeping with the current trend, the Dell UltraSharp U2711 features a 16:9 wide-screen aspect ratio for movies, but the big deal here is its screen...- 2560x1440 screen resolution
- quality of H-IPS panel
- lot of input ports
- DeepColor gamut support
- input lag not noticeable
- No screen pivot functionality
Dell Ultrasharp U2711 review
Can PC monitors be too big? Speak to owners of uber 30-inch displays and you might be surprised by the answer. That's where the Dell Ultrasharp U2711 steps in. At 27 inches, it's significantly smaller than ultra-panels such as HP's ZR30W.

The Dell UltraSharp U2711 is one of the new breed of high-resolution 16:9 ratio displays to hit the market. With a high-quality IPS panel, a huge 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, and an equally hefty price tag, the U2711 is a high-end monitor to aspire to.

The last time I reviewed one of Dell's UltraSharp monitors, the 2408WFP ($689.00 Direct, ), I was wowed by its solid performance and robust feature set. Despite the relatively high price, it merited an Editors' Choice award.- Very good color and light grayscale performance
- Lots of A/V ports and multimedia features
- Wide viewing angle
- High res screen
- Pricey
- Some trouble displaying dark grays
- No pivot adjustment
Clean design
- Fine resolution
- The price is a little expensive
Awesome but not chic
This monitor is a professional monitor. It is thick. It is solid. It is a brute by all accounts. If you're looking for something slim and sexy, look at Dell's S series. Their aesthetics are easier on the eyes and most models have an IPS panel which still gives you a beautiful display for casual...- -High Resolution is great for multitasking
- Colors are rich and stand out
- Gaming preset mode really makes games look better
- -Anti-glare coating leaves rainbow pixelation on white backgrounds
- It takes some getting used to
Excellent monitor slow 60Hz great color wide gamut not siutable to everyone
I upgraded from a 19" square monitor so this 27" is a monster to me, took me couple days to get used to the change. The AG coating grainy effect is noticeable. Looking at the white blank spaces as I'm typing this review here on ebay and I do see a slight noise-like effect on it, but this is very...
