2013's Dead or Alive 5 was the only major 3D fighter released then that actually played like what you would think a current-gen fighter to be. Tekken, SoulCalibur, and Virtua Fighter's latest entries play great – but feel like they're higher-res versions of games from prior generations.
The final version of Dead or Alive 5 is here. The original release entered the ring back in 2012 and since then has had various re-releases, including Plus and Ultimate . With Dead or Alive 5: Last Round , the game has been fully realized for the current generations of consoles.
The definitive Dead or Alive 5 experience is now available on the PlayStation 4 (Reviewed) and the Xbox One as this action packed fighter with a touch of the titillation factor is finally on next-gen consoles!
My favorite 3D fighting series has always been, and probably always will be Dead or Alive. As I said in earlier reviews of the franchise, I was hooked from the moment that I played the original arcade game for the first time.
Dead or Alive has been my fighter game of choice since I picked up Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore for my PS2. I liked the fast-paced and depth in the combat, it was great to look at, and it had some seriously over the top characters that worked right alongside the more serious ones.
The visuals are sooo much better.
Dead or Questionably Alive
This is the first DOA game I've played, and after playing it for a few days I'd say it's a pretty cool game. Highly recommend it.
So what does Dead or Alive's first outing on the new consoles offer over the last gen version? Well, not much. It does look slightly better; character's faces and hair are noticeably improved and, current bugs aside, the framerate is solid but there's not much else to speak of.
