I own all three of the dead space series but decided to buy my friend the series because it is so friggin awesome! Game works great and came in the time they said it would!

Before we get started, I'm going to preface this review with what it isn't.  While the presence of a substantial amount of launch DLC that could have easily become a part of the product at large has its implications, I'm not going to focus on that in the course of this review.

It's hard to fault Dead Space 3 overall, because it offers so much for so many different types of gamer. The microtransactions present an interesting dilemma for the industry and consumers, but the game does a great job of balancing these out with superb gameplay pacing and difficulty settings that...

It's an unfortunate side effect of today's industry that almost every one of our favourite franchises we enjoyed in our youths is being butchered or shaken up to the point where it barely resembles what it originally started off as.

Since its introduction with the first game, we've seen the Dead Space universe unfold and expand with a mixture of transmedia releases and a clear eye for detail and narrative foundation.

Isaac Clarke suffers reversals of fortune with such speed and regularity, it's like it is bound to some sort of wheel. A wheel... of... fortune. His reversals get reversed, he climbs to the top of a mountain only to be thrown back down - he's a representation of the Buddhist philosophy that life is...

I haven't played it all the way through but so far it seems identical to the previous games if you're playing it alone. No companion in single player. These games depend heavily on scares and atmosphere.

Dead Space 3 was never a game lacking for content. Between a 15- to 20-hour campaign built around a deep weapon-crafting system and numerous unlockable game modes, there was plenty to keep your attention in Isaac Clarke's most recent adventure.

New cultist enemies are super creepy
