Dead Rising 3 review

Dead Rising 3 is clearly one of the standout Xbox One launch games, but isn't without its problems. I'm not thrilled with the map design, it's got repetition issues and some of the boss fights are disastrous, but Dead Rising fans know to expect that.

+ Hundreds of zombies on screen; + Story and hardcore mode; + Vehicle combos; + Zombie bashing

- Map design; - Too gun heavy; - Some annoying bosses

Dead Rising 3 Xbox One

Dead Rising has succeeded most when allowed to innovate. The original, released seven months after the 360 launched, was a revelation, displaying hundreds of zombies onscreen simultaneously in glorious HD.

+ Fixes many of the flaws of previous Dead Rising games without sacrificing the series' style; + The sheer amount of weapons to find (and make) will keep you engaged all the way through Overtime

? Why don't people just hide behind those locked doors? No amount of zombies or firepower can break them

Dead Rising 3 Review

If you have an Xbox One, you have probably already played this. If not, you should.

Expanded open world gameplay; Combo weapons; Visuals are amazing

No sandbox mode?; Weak story; Kinect is hit or miss

Dead Rising 3 Review

The Dead Rising franchise is the Saints Row of zombie apocalypses. It's not as serious as The Walking Dead or Left 4 Dead , where even a single zombie can be a life-ending threat, and it's rife with silly antics like combination weapons tied together with duct tape, psycho bosses who have...

Silly; serious fun; Combo weapons; super combo weapons; and combo vehicles; Crafting weapons on the fly; Story mode and Nightmare mode; Strong; balanced character progression; Online co-op

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One) - Review

17,890 zombies were harmed in the making of this review. Dead Rising was the very first game I ever played on the Xbox 360. It was, in actual fact, one of the key reasons I purchased the console for in the first place.

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)

After going multiplatform with Dead Rising 2, the Xbox One launch title Dead Rising 3 brings the series back to the Microsoft camp. Set 15 years after the first game, Dead Rising 3 ditches the shopping mall and reality TV settings of the first two games for an open-world, post-apocalyptic California...

Dead Rising 3

New consoles may be all about the exclusive games available for them, but it was still a surprise when it emerged that Capcom's much-loved zombie-genocide toy-box Dead Rising would be taking its next-gen bow solely on the Xbox One. Fortunately, it offers plenty in the form of bragging rights.

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One) Review – Open World Zombie Brain Bashing at its Finest

There is something about open world sandbox style games we all love. Whether it be Saints Row IV or Grand Theft Auto V, we seem to have no problem dropping some hard earned cash on a game that gives us that ability to explore an open world setting, complete endless side missions, and plow through a...

Dead Rising 3 Review

If you wanted to get all deep about it, you could argue that Dead Rising 3 is an interactive extension of this new console generation's launch period. It's all a bit rough around the edges and, setting the tone, the outlook for all involved is a bit bleak right now.

Bigger and with more zombies, but something is lost in translation from Xbox 360 to Xbox One
