Zombie Killing Goes Next Gen in Dead Rising 3

Long heralded as Capcom's "other zombie franchise", Dead Rising finally gets an opportunity to shine as one of the Xbox One's launch line-up exclusives. Can the third entry in the series finally escape the shadow of Resident Evil and stand at the vanguard of Microsoft's charge into the next-gen war

Thousands of zombies to kill in creative ways..

Forces players to run to opposite ends of the map way too often

Best Next Gen Launch Game

I purchased both the Xbox One and PS4 at launch, as well as all the exclusive launch titles for each system. This game gets the most play by far. Highly recommended.

(Xbox One Review) Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 takes the series to new heights with a large open outdoor environment, a great variety of weapons, and a fantastic co-op mode. It stumbles in its dealings with humans, who are stricken with poor characterizations, bad writing, and the ability to bring out the worst in the camera in...

Massive fun; A good sandbox; Tons of weapons and equipment

Doesn't look next gen; Bugs; Repetitive

Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 is the game you'd purchase with your Xbox One if you wanted to socialize with friends on a co-operative level. Sure, there is always some healthy competition in the form of who can rack up the most kills, but generally this is a game to be best enjoyed with a partner.

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One) Review

Capcom's latest foray into zombies with Dead Rising 3 is a next-generation game that, while not the kind which will test the limits of the new Xbox One's technology, makes a great starting game for the system.

Dead Rising 3

'Dead Rising' first hit the scene as an early 360 title before going multiplatform, with a multi-version sequel. Capcom went in a another direction from 'Resident Evil' by capturing one of the best aspects of zombie fiction, daunting numbers of zombies in a great sandbox area.

Dead Rising 3 review

Dead Rising 3 is as close as we'll get to having Peter Jackson's Braindead adapted as a videogame. It is lunatic fun, and goes out of its way to over-emphasise this. You play Nick, a survivor of a zombie outbreak in a stereotypical west coast US city.

Dead Rising 3 Review

If you wanted to get all deep about it, you could argue that Dead Rising 3 is an interactive extension of this new console generation's launch period. It's all a bit rough around the edges and, setting the tone, the outlook for all involved is a bit bleak right now.

Bigger and with more zombies, but something is lost in translation from Xbox 360 to Xbox One
