An average Wi-Fi adapter.

2.5
Verdict: With built-in Wi-Fi now a regular feature of the latest PCs and notebooks, the role of the humble USB adapter is somewhat diminishing. However, with the expansion of 802.11 draft-n Wi-Fi into homes over both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, chances are your computer isn't transferring files at the fastest...
Pros: Dual band operation, detailed Wireless Connection Manager
Cons: Large, poorly implemented WPS, relatively poor speeds, no Mac OS X support

D-Link DWA-160

No reviews
Verdict: When looking for networking hardware, D-Link is the first name that comes to mind for many people. They have a well established reputation for versatility and innovation. TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award winner D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N is an excellent dual band wireless adapter that meets the requirements...
Pros: Excellent range and speed. Dual band technology reduces the chance of interference
Cons: Compatible only with Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems

Poor Linux support for B2 revision

2.0
Verdict: This leaves you with the Ralink drivers which are source downloadable from Ralink's website, but they're kind of buggy. If you fiddle with them it's possible to get improvement, but getting them to compile and install on 12.04.1 Ubuntu seemed leave them in a state where they drop connections...
Pros: It's not like the hardware is horrible..
Cons: On Linux if you get the B2 revision of this device it will use an RT5572 chipset, which is not supported (to my knoweldge) by Kernel drivers listed on wireless.kernel.org as of 11/2012

Drops signal. Do not buy this.

1.0
Verdict: I began having issues with my lower end d-link usb adapter (DWA-130) dropping connections . The signal from my router was fairly weak with the DWA-130 so i decided to try this DWA-160 out to see if I could get a stronger, more consistent connection.

Lives Up To Expectations on Vista 64 Bit System. P

4.0
Verdict: This product claims to have speeds up to "14x faster than wireless G" and buyers should be forewarned that you aren't going to get that kind of performance improvement. You will, however, see about a 5-6x performance improvement with the right supporting hardware which is nothing to shake a stick...

Easy to set up, reliable connection

5.0
Verdict: I puchased this to use on an older HP desktop computer that does not have wireless. I am using it with the D-Link DIR-655 Gigabit router. The software was easy to install and the connection was just as easy.
Pros: Easy to move around, Easy To Set Up, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection

Doesn't work, mad cheaply

5.0
Verdict: Right out of the box it was a little sketchy. After reading the instructions, I plugged it in as it said and it did not work. I then went to the website, downloaded the drivers and tried again, no luck. I spent a while on YouTube and the D-Link support site but no solution.

Disappointed

4.0
Verdict: It has been more than 6 months since purchasing the D-link DWA-160 usb adapter. The product worked fine all this time. So I never gave it a second thought that it would stop working. I came back home from the store to find my internet connection disconnected.
Pros: Features, Quiet, Performance

Pros: Structure, Usb Cable, Light, Strengh
Cons: Software

D-Link DWA-160

1.0
Verdict: This is an excellent product. Easy to download software and had it working in minutes. It has never dropped my wireless connection and my connection is super fast. A little more pricier than some others but I'd rather pay a little more and get a much better product than pay $20 less and get...

DISAPPOINTING

2.3
Verdict: This product does not perform as advertised. I have this device connected to a laptop which I placed in the same room as my desktop which has a DWA-552 card installed. The DIR-655 router was in the next room, about 10 feet away.

Works fine again now

5.0
Verdict: Upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7 and the adapter wasn't recognized at first. Removed it as a device, then physically disconnected it, then reconnected and Win 10 discovered it automatically. Works fine again now. Seems reliable. Had it 4 years now.

Haedware Ver B2

2.0
Verdict: Ordered for use with Fluke Airmagnet Analyzer and Omnipeek.DLink changed the chipset to Ralink 5572, so hardware version is now incompatible with both products.
