The modem was simple to setup but I immediately noticed that it kept dropping the internet connection every few minutes and would reconnect. Speeds were also slower than what I normally get at my place (both via Wifi and Ethernet).

So my previous modem bit the dust after 9 years of use and I had to get a replacement I bought this modem and got it setup after not being able to for about a day. You'd thnk this would be it but no the internet speed was so sluggish and inconsistent you'd literally just give up and use 4g sometimes. The constant disconnecting from the wifi becomes less of an issue if you are very close to it but still remains very slow. The signal strength is so bad it can't get pass 2 walls so certain areas in my apartment literally have no wifi. This is simply unacceptable my dissapointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I bought this modem with intentions to improve my Optus network at home by giving my apartment greater coverage and overall performance. This d-link modem certainly didn't meet these expectations. After completing the initial setup, I couldn't get a stable internet connection, in fact no internet connection at all. I called up tech support who for two hours straight on the phone, struggled but eventually helped me fix the issue. Even once the internet was connected using this new d-link modem, my internet speed was slowed right down from 50mbs to around 10mbs. The following day, the internet wouldn't connect at all and so I had no choice but to go back to the old standard Optus modem, which actually performed better than the d-link modem. So in summary, please don't purchase this product. Increase your budget by about $50 and you'll walk out of JB Hi-FI with a much better product.

Was a warranty replacement after buying a DSL-2885 (actually the warranty replacement of a warranty replacement). Constant loss of connection. Blamed ISP for ages but finally router became unresponsive and would only work after a power cycle. Would never recommend Dlink to anyone. Currently dealing with DLink for another replacement but will throw it in the bin instead.

Im on my second one of these in 4 months, slow, and eventually they die, after several weeks. only to get stuck in a reboot loop. Reset button doesn't work. Junk. Do NOT waste your time or money on this product

Good product, easy to setup, and does not take up much space standing upright. WiFi signal is excellent for a one-bedroom apartment.

D-Link is an absolute joke to setup, Spent a whole day trying to work it out, and going through every setting and youtube video I could find for help. Tried to ring D-Link for tech support and the call wouldn't go through, your also dealing with a company that isn't even based in New Zealand. Got my money back and brought a TP-Link and it was installed within 15 mins. If you not that keen on having your time wasted don't buy this.

Once set up, this unit hasn't missed a beat, and very happy with it. The only unusual thing I have found that it takes a long time to connect up to UFF if power turned off/on - but not really a problem. Excellent having 2.4 & 5Gbs available. 5Gbs speeds give little data loss, but shorter range as expected. As usual, excellent service from PB Tech. :-)

Bought this last year, and impressed with the reliability and performance. The 5ghz frequency means I'm getting internet delivery to computers, etc at close to the the speed I'm paying for. Range at 5Ghz average (as expected) , but 2.4Ghz covers the household well. Recommend this unit.

not as good as my previous modem. tp link archer vr600.but that one was faulty ,so i had to get this. thanks level 3 . still waiting to return the faulty one.thanks level 4. the price was the same but slower speeds.
