I was looking for a short-term replacement after my old Billion died, so picked up the D-Link DSL-2878. That was my first mistake. Without any external antennae, the range on the 5GHz is very poor, even for 5GHz. While the 2.4GHz range is reasonable, the constant wifi connection drop-outs and sudden speed drops makes it useless for most tasks. Browsing the web even becomes painful when you'll suddenly suffer web page timeouts for up to a minute on and off throughout your day. The disconnections and speed drops affect a range of applications like browsing, streaming, and online gaming. If you plan on using it for your one wired PC and maybe a phone, you can find cheaper modem/routers that will do the job. If you plan on using it for any more than 2-3 wifi devices in your house, do not buy.

Recently just bought this to replace an ISP-supplied modem/router. The problem is this product doesn't even connect to the internet... specifically NBN's fiber-to-the-node. Definitely will be seeking a refund for this.

Bought this 2 months ago. IF I could give it zero starts I would. Difficult to setup with IInet FTTP. Despite all the correct settings. took 2 hours and then inexplicably started working. Wifi is average giving speeds less than advertised despite having Fibre to the Premises. I could live with that but then via ethernet the performance drops to speeds barely better than a poor ADSL service. It is full of inherent faults, now acknowledge by the manufacture. You'd be better off buying a carrier pigeon, than buy this piece of junk. Cant believe the sales guy sold me this knowing full well it was going to fail. Also lied when I asked if many people returned this product. Said he hadnt had any complaints

Very poor performance, frequent WIFI dropouts at 5.0GHz although 2.4 GHZ fares much better. You are better of looking at other routers then this one.

It was the wrong product and we haven't used it. I looked up VDSL modem router with VOIP in the JB website and it was the first result it delivered, but it was not VOIP capable
