Super Fast, Handles great
HINT; plug your ethernet cord in the very bottom plug on the modem, it doesnt show this on quick set up. Lack of information and set up guidance, have to go to disc to get 50 page guide. Dont like that!!! Dont like that it doesnt have software so I can change the settings when I want.- So far it is handling all my devices 4 laptops, 2 tablets, 1 tv 3 iphones and will be adding a DVD
- My speed flies, I hit internet and I am there in a blink.
- Ok
- like others have posted
- it is a ***** to install.
D-Link DIR-645 Wi-Fi Router Review
If you've divided your router requirements into needs and wants, and you've determined that a single-band router is all you need, D-Link's DIR-645 is a good choice. If attaching USB storage to that router is also firmly ensconced in your needs column, on the other hand, you should stay clear of this...- Fast performance, especially at long distance
- DLNA and iTunes servers
- Operates on only 2.4GHz frequency band
- one underpowered USB port
- unintuitive web-based UI
D-Link DIR-645 1000 Whole Home Router
I upgraded my wireless G router to a 300 MBps wireless N router by D-Link. I chose this one mainly because I think that the antenna is straight up rather than angled. The design looks very nice. It isn't the usual box shape with two or three antennas sticking out.
Very nice unit for the money, and improved range over standard antenna type
Almost seamless set-up, right out of the box. Software allows user to unplug old router, and set up new unit, simultaneously; with little time or interruption. Standard features of most routers with WEP and WPS security. Pros: Easy to set up.
Great router once its set up
Absolutely great router once its setup. It works great through several walls and theres no delay in speed. We couldn't believe how fast our internet actually was until we switched routers to this one. We had 2 difficulties, however. First, the power cable that came with it didn't work.
D-Link DIR-645 SmartBeam router
Last month we reviewed the D-Link DIR-657 , a router filled with proprietary tricks to get around the ever more limiting factors of 802.11n WiFi. It didn't work and felt like the final proof that you can't teach an old standard new tricks. Turns out we gave up a few weeks too soon...- SmartBeam significantly improves WiFi range & performance
- Stylish & practical design
- Intuitive setup & graphical user interface
- Well priced
- Single band limits multiple user wireless streaming
D-LINK DIR-645 300 Mbps WiFi-N Router with SmartBeam
Having multple (pc) users + smartphones + games console is a push for most 802.11g wifi systems, so having a new 'n' router from my ISP I was looking for range & performance improvements. I could not have been more wrong with the <other-brand> router they supplied.- Stable
- high speed wifi with great range
- some challenges with set-up wizzards & cable routing
Great Improvement over vendor Wifi router.
Easy to set up, but has the capacity for a complex setup, including port forwarding. I just used the manual setup to input the routers IP and DNS, gave the wireless network a name and password and started using it. Much better signal and speed at all locations.
D-Link DIR-645 review
D-Link's DIR-645 is certainly a break from router convention. Instead of being a short and squat box with stubby aerials, it's a round glossy black cylinder. According to D-Link, it also has something special inside to help improve wireless speeds – what the company calls SmartBeam technology.
