D-Link Whole Home Router 1000 DIR-645
The D-Link DIR-645 is a unique router for those who are tired of the boring boxy design. At $89, it's also much less expensive than dual-band routers, and offers fairly good performance.- Smart design
- Easy setup
- Good throughput at close range
- Low price
- Lacks VPN
Super Fast, Handles great
HINT; plug your ethernet cord in the very bottom plug on the modem, it doesnt show this on quick set up. Lack of information and set up guidance, have to go to disc to get 50 page guide. Dont like that!!! Dont like that it doesnt have software so I can change the settings when I want.- So far it is handling all my devices 4 laptops, 2 tablets, 1 tv 3 iphones and will be adding a DVD
- My speed flies, I hit internet and I am there in a blink.
- Ok
- like others have posted
- it is a ***** to install.
D-Link DIR-645 Wi-Fi Router Review
If you've divided your router requirements into needs and wants, and you've determined that a single-band router is all you need, D-Link's DIR-645 is a good choice. If attaching USB storage to that router is also firmly ensconced in your needs column, on the other hand, you should stay clear of this...- Fast performance, especially at long distance
- DLNA and iTunes servers
- Operates on only 2.4GHz frequency band
- one underpowered USB port
- unintuitive web-based UI
D-Link DIR-645 1000 Whole Home Router
I upgraded my wireless G router to a 300 MBps wireless N router by D-Link. I chose this one mainly because I think that the antenna is straight up rather than angled. The design looks very nice. It isn't the usual box shape with two or three antennas sticking out.
Very nice unit for the money, and improved range over standard antenna type
Almost seamless set-up, right out of the box. Software allows user to unplug old router, and set up new unit, simultaneously; with little time or interruption. Standard features of most routers with WEP and WPS security. Pros: Easy to set up.
Great router once its set up
Absolutely great router once its setup. It works great through several walls and theres no delay in speed. We couldn't believe how fast our internet actually was until we switched routers to this one. We had 2 difficulties, however. First, the power cable that came with it didn't work.
D-Link DIR-645 Amplifi Whole Home Router 1000
The unique-looking and compact D-Link Amplifi Whole Home Router 1000 (DIR-645) makes a very good investment for homes that need a fast wired network and good Wi-Fi signal coverage.- The D-Link Amplifi Whole Home Router 1000 DIR-645 offers long range, built-in media streaming, and decent throughput performance
- The router comes in a sleek, compact design and includes a nice set of features, such as Gigabit Ethernet, OpenDNS-based parental control, IPv6, guest networking, and USB...
- The DIR-645 doesn't support dual-band or the 450Mbps Wi-Fi standard
- When set in N-only mode, the router's signal stabililty could use some improvement

Great overall Router.
It a normal everyday router, not for the advanced home where loads of devices be connected. However it does have great reception if located in the right place. Great for a normal home with around 5-8 devices. Reliable has not crashed or given any issues.
Great unit.... but appauling firmware.
I'm pretty much a tech geek. However, it doesn't take someone who's IT literate to notice some of this router's falldowns.<br />The unit i have suffers with internet disconnects approximately every 12 hours (the BTopenreach modem is still connected however...- Good Wireless Range
- Improves Performance
- Strong Connection Points
- BT Infinity Drops
- Firmware Bugs
- Internal DNS bug
- Limited Compatibility
- Unreliable
- Xbox Live Disconnects
