D-Link DIR-645 Wi-Fi Router Review
If you've divided your router requirements into needs and wants, and you've determined that a single-band router is all you need, D-Link's DIR-645 is a good choice. If attaching USB storage to that router is also firmly ensconced in your needs column, on the other hand, you should stay clear of this...
Pros:
- Fast performance, especially at long distance
- DLNA and iTunes servers
Cons:
- Operates on only 2.4GHz frequency band
- one underpowered USB port
- unintuitive web-based UI

When you're looking for a good router these days it's tempting to leave single-band versions by the wayside. Dual-band routers have that extra frequency that experiences much less interference and is faster as well.

Great unit.... but appauling firmware.
I'm pretty much a tech geek. However, it doesn't take someone who's IT literate to notice some of this router's falldowns.<br />The unit i have suffers with internet disconnects approximately every 12 hours (the BTopenreach modem is still connected however...
Pros:
- Good Wireless Range
- Improves Performance
- Strong Connection Points
Cons:
- BT Infinity Drops
- Firmware Bugs
- Internal DNS bug
- Limited Compatibility
- Unreliable
- Xbox Live Disconnects

This is a great router for general and gaming use.
People fail to understand that most any Wifi router has issues, especially in area with numerous Wifi routers near by on 2.4Ghz. These are using up all the channels and thus people are seeing disconnections from there router as it has to stop and rescan for a different channel.
Pros:
- Stable router for everyday use

The best router I've ever had
I have everything running off this one device - most usually running at the same time - netflix, apple tv, mutiple ipads, ipods, iphones, blackberries, speakers, and up to 3 computers at a time and I have never had any problems. I telework a lot, so VPN into the office as well.

D-LINK DIR-645 300 Mbps WiFi-N Router with SmartBeam
Having multple (pc) users + smartphones + games console is a push for most 802.11g wifi systems, so having a new 'n' router from my ISP I was looking for range & performance improvements. I could not have been more wrong with the <other-brand> router they supplied.
Pros:
- Stable
- high speed wifi with great range
Cons:
- some challenges with set-up wizzards & cable routing

Soviet coffee-grinder or D-Link DIR-645
The D-Link DIR-645 wireless router we tested produced a mixed impression. On the one hand, it is a stylish and affordable SOHO-router with a wide range of features, among which good performance of regular routing for IPv4 and IPv6; on the other hand, low rates of data transmission speeds via PPTP...
Pros:
- IPv6 support
- The option of additional graphic user authentication
- Rich functionality
- Built-in help
- Support of a guest wireless network
- The ability of beamforming when wireless clients are connected
- Stylish design
Cons:
- The web-interface is available only in English
- Low transmission speeds via PPTP
- Low-quality power adapter
- The impossibility to give Cyrillic names to VPN servers

D-Link DIR-645 1000 Whole Home Router
I upgraded my wireless G router to a 300 MBps wireless N router by D-Link. I chose this one mainly because I think that the antenna is straight up rather than angled. The design looks very nice. It isn't the usual box shape with two or three antennas sticking out.
