Recently I have been adding so many devices to my network that I ran out of space on my switch and I needed a new one. My desire to expand my network has not stopped so I wanted a switch that would offer a lot of extra room. I settled on the D-Link DGS-1024D 24-Port Gigabit Switch

Ive had this unit for about 3 months and Im contantly having to reboot it to recognize all my tech. I have 3 Blu-ray players, 3 computers, 2 NAS, an XBOX, and 2 HD-DVD players...all connected to this switch. Only the computers run Gigabit.

This is a decent switch, gets the job done, and is reasonably priced for a gigabit switch. This switch claims it's "Green". It uses 0.09 Amps and 6-7 Watts while on without any active connections.

It's extremely tiny when rack mounted, barely takes up any room; Not manageable

Plug it in, hook everything up, there you go, works as it should! Likely the lowest maintenance item in your entire network!

These units are enclosed in a metal case. With,..threaded mounting holes on the back panel! This was especially helpful to me as I did not use the provided bracket: Instead, I used about "6 Fine thread screws"of sufficient length to mount it flush to pegboard, making for a neat appearance.

Replaced our ancient (15+ year old) system that finally died on us. This unit is compact, fast, and easy to install. So far so good.

The 24port D-Link is a great device. Adds tons of speed capabilities and capacity to your network. Can be mounted in a rack which is ideal. Or set it on a desktop. Ideal for big lan parties, or office connectivity.

Replacing a 12 year old switch with this. Mounted to my rack perfectly (note rack mounts are provided but not rack mounting screws) Totally plug and play. I literally unplugged patch cords from the old switch and plugged them into the new switch.

I was looking for a simple switch to install in a utility closet to connect my in wall Ethernet Cables. This unit works great. Great size, well placed ventilation grills, it even came with server rack mounts which I used to mount it on the wall.

The switch made a big change in my network. No management and low fan noise are the only down side to this switch.
