DCS-930L Wireless N Network Camera

After we reviewed the DropCam Echo a few weeks back and found ourselves generally unimpressed, we received an e-mail from someone at D-Link saying something to the effect of: "Dude, you have to try out our thing, because our thing is totally better than their thing and costs a heck of a lot less

Wireless connectivity; Easy setup; Relatively low cost

Poor image quality; Software is unintuitive; Seizure-inducing blinkenlight

D-Link DCS-930L D-Link Wireless N Network Camera Reviewed

Over the years, I've had an occasional need for a security camera to watch over my house. I've checked out a few cameras, but found that the inexpensive units on the market were really no more than toys that weren't suited for 24/7 deployment. But times change.

Low cost; 802.11n wireless; Good quality video; including low light; Audio monitoring

A few quirks; Recording not built in; Motion detection setup can be finicky; No MacOS setup or mgmt / recording support

Does the job

Great so far. Easy to use with mydlink app, however config is basic, so recommend configuration through pc login.

Good basic cam; Easy to setup with mydlink apps

Well night mode would have been nice; but can't say its a negative since i got it on sale

Only Good for Three Months

It worked fine for a couple of months, then I was unable to connect to it via WiFi. I connected it via Ethernet to try setup again, but that only worked for a short time. Now I can see that it connects to my router, but it down't have an IP address. Would not buy again.

Works as advertised

Purchased for home security monitoring while away. Camera's do not like to work with the Verizon Fios email system, but creating a quick gmail account worked great. Takes a little work getting the cameras (mulitiple purchased) all up and running on the Mydlink site, but well worth it once all was...

Excellent network camera

Easy to setup and use and monitor remotely. upnp plug and play compatible and no wireless network drops which makes it a very stable product to use.

Easy to setup, works on n network; you can monitor from outside the network and works on ipad and android phones too

very bad in low light or has absolutely no night vision

Seeing is Believing

The cameras are useful and you can see what's going on. The clarity is lacking, unless you are near the camera. For the price though, very well priced. Easy set up, easy viewing on the phone or computer. I would want them to work on the alerting, maybe allowing pictures when something moves.

Great Network camera with easy setup for the LAN, but I have tried at least 6 times to get my Verizon router to let the video go out to the WWW, with no luck. Port Forwarding is VERY difficult and confusing on Verizon FIOS.

D-LINK DCS-930L mydlink Wireless-N Network Camera

Mains plug contained an adapter for UK 13 amp socket connection. This could be a problem if you don't have much room beneath the socket. Minimum 45mm required beneath socket.

As expected

13 amp adapter included but.
