In his first look the other day at the new D-Link Cobra AC-5300 modem router , our Ray Shaw was dazzled. "Deadly to slow internet" he said. Now we've managed to spend a bit more time with it. What does this $749.95 device give us
Extreme speed; relatively easy setup; very fast interface
A couple of interface bugs; unclear how to use attached hard drives
The manual for the Cobra was still being finished at the time we tested, and we would suggest that buyers find time to read it once it is available. The setup guide is straightforward enough, but we did run into a few wrinkles that might be avoided with full documentation.
Very happy with it and has some great features. Set up was a bit tedious due to my ISP tech help having no experience with other makes of modems/ routers, even the d-link guys have only basic knowledge on this device lol
