Waste Of Money

Cumbersome interface. Remote control is too small and needs to be backlit in low light. Streaming video which is suppose to be the big draw does not work even on high speed wireless connection. Do not waste your money on this product like I did!
Cons:
  • Freezes in Operation

Better than XBox/PS3/MCE

1080p material only plays perfectly on a wired connection and only via UPNP (I run from a Synology). Otherwise the playback will buffer a lot on SMB, NFS. The unit has a light-up Boxee logo on the side that dims during playback.
Pros:
  • Plays 1080p MKV's from personal BD collection
  • Plays everything I've thrown at it including the goofy BBC interlaced VC1's
  • Based on XBMC which is a plus
  • Unit is small
  • RF remote is nice and work from any orientation
  • Screensaver easily changed with SD card
  • Has Netflix which works well.
Cons:
  • Not exactly intuitive, takes getting used to
  • Applications are populated with a lot of stuff I didn't want and had to remove them one at a time
  • Doesn't have Hulu
  • Integrated browser isn't very useful
  • Can't skip ads in YouTube videos
  • Remote runs on a watch battery (included)
