D-Link Boxee Box DSM-380 review
The Boxee is a network media player done right with one or two caveats. In contrast to the rough efforts of many if its competitors D-Link has built a great-looking device that provides an elegant experience for both local and internet media playback.
Pros:
- Plays everything smooth interface excellent library features excellent remote
Cons:
- It can be very slow to load libraries and apps

Better than XBox/PS3/MCE
1080p material only plays perfectly on a wired connection and only via UPNP (I run from a Synology). Otherwise the playback will buffer a lot on SMB, NFS. The unit has a light-up Boxee logo on the side that dims during playback.
Pros:
- Plays 1080p MKV's from personal BD collection
- Plays everything I've thrown at it including the goofy BBC interlaced VC1's
- Based on XBMC which is a plus
- Unit is small
- RF remote is nice and work from any orientation
- Screensaver easily changed with SD card
- Has Netflix which works well.
Cons:
- Not exactly intuitive, takes getting used to
- Applications are populated with a lot of stuff I didn't want and had to remove them one at a time
- Doesn't have Hulu
- Integrated browser isn't very useful
- Can't skip ads in YouTube videos
- Remote runs on a watch battery (included)

I wish I had read the review first before I bought this box. It's nearing the end of 2012 and the same issues still exist from the time CNET made the review. Serious D-Link engineers would've resolved the problems and improved the firmware by now if there was comparable competition.
Pros:
- Cute box and input/outputs
- Remote is passable.
Cons:
- No instructions on the proper use of the remote
- You can't tell if the CAPS button is on or off
- There's no power control on the remote
- The "cursor" buttons on the other side of the QWERTY keys should be replaced by a touch pad, they're a pain to navigate with just like the arrow keys on the other...

Boxee = The Best!
This unit is far more than just a tv box, it can stream music/video from your iphone to your TV, but also the best it can stream movies from online repositories and of course movies from your own personal collection, as long as they have been stored digitally.

My 60 year old dad can even use it... he has never used a computer... Its integration with my network is great, how it displays the movies and music. So great.

Made imporvement
I've got to say - this little box has turned into the best streamer on the market. The initial firmware was not-so-hot, but Boxee has since made considerable improvements. If my Boxee Box broke tomorrow, would I buy another? You bet! It isn't perfect, but I haven't seen anything else come close yet.

Boxee Box by D-Link review
The Boxee Box is somewhat like the Apple TV in that it lacks any onboard storage. However, it does have the distinct advantage of having two USB ports, so you can add external storage to the device should the need arise. As well as the USB ports there's an Ethernet connection and built-in WiFi.
Pros:
- Fantastic online services
- great user interface
- decent remote control
- option to add local storage
Cons:
- Not many movies yet
- minor bugs, like sites not showing full-screen video

D-Link Boxee Box Review
The Boxee Box is a part HD media player and part HD media streamer. As one device, it attempts to do the best of what the WD Live HD media player series does and what the Apple TV does. And does so looking very unique.
Pros:
- Very good HD playback
- with the filters correctly set up
- Boxee Media Manager app is easy to set up
- Unique design
- Remote has a complete keypad on one side
Cons:
- A couple of filters make video noisy
- if turned on
- UI feels dated
- You get a WD Live Hub with a 1TB drive for slightly less cash
- Quite a few apps don't work in India

Review: D-Link Boxee Box
In my never ending quest to find the best way to share all my media in my house, I have tried just about everything. I finally settled on using stand alone PCs hooked up to each TV for playing shared media because this offers the most options, but it is also the most expensive.
