Crucial MX300 and MX300 M.2 Reviews (525GB & 1TB)

Crucial has some solid SSDs to its name, with the MX family in particular often winning favour with enthusiasts for its decent balance of price and performance. Today, we're looking at the latest model in this family, the MX300, in three different varieties: a standard 2.5in model (525GB) and two...

Love the small size and amount of fast storage available for my main drive. Installed without issues in my gaming 3 mobo, detected right away, installed Win 10 from usb directly to HD.

Small and plugs right into motherboard; Price matched good price for this size of drive

I lost sata slots on my motherboard when this was plugged in; but I guess that's more of a motherboard issue

Fast and very easy to install

Very fast; much faster than any standard mechanical drive. Your operating system will boot far faster, and programs will load faster if mechanical is what you're used to. Installation, in particular on motherboards with an M.2 slot, couldn't get much easier. Excellent drive for the price.

Great first m.2

This was my first m.2 SSD and I've enjoyed it greatly. I've installed my OS to it and it boots up noticeably faster than my standard SSD. Barely any wait time.

Upgrade your Acer SSID to 500GB.....it works great!!!!

I've upgraded my Acer laptop from 128GB SSID to 500GB SSID using this Crucial SSID. Acer would not commit to saying it would work and din't recommend it, but mine works perfectly from the moment I switched on.

Answers to compatibility questions.

So, to answer some common asked questions, this drive is a B+M key layout M.2 SSD, the wonderful name means it is compatible with both B and M key layout slots. Check your spec sheet before buying, but this is a SATA-speed SSD, not NVMe nor PCIe (Don't really know the difference).

Excellent value in a PC that only supports SATA. If you have a PC that supports NVME I'd go with that as the prices have really come down. Unfortunately, my Lenovo only supports the SATA interface so this is the route I went. Inside my Lenovo, it does reach max SATA3 speeds.
