Does a very good job when you have professionals install and transfer the data. everything was where it was previously and operates much faster with a lot less to wear out
I had SSD drive professionally installed by an independent computer/IT into my 2010 27inch Quad core i7 iMac. They informed me that it will fit in behind the optical drive (without losing the optical drive). Now I have a 1TB start up disk and 1TB storage drive.
Feels Responsive; Speed
This drive has been an absolute delight. So much so, that I purchased 1) a Sata PCI card (to add Sata connections) 2) an adapter to add two M.2 2280 connectors and 3) TWO MORE 275GB Crucial SSDs. Yes, my machine will soon have three SSD's and no more mechanical drives. I recommend this product!
They included two tiny screws for mounting to the board

At the time of writing, Crucial's MX300 M.2 2280 SSD with 525GB can be yours for $124.99 at NewEgg , £122.99 at Scan Computers , and €117.18 through Geizhals . Crucial once again convinced me with one of their SSDs.

Today, CDRLabs brings you a review of Crucial's new MX300 M.2 SSD. Designed for tablets and ultrabooks, this new addition to the MX300 line isn't much larger than a stick of gum. The drive is powered by Marvell's 88SS1074B1 controller and is available with up to 1050GB of Micron's 3D TLC NAND.
Small M.2 2280 form factor; Available in 275GB; 525GB and 1050GB capacities; Good sequential and random read and write performance; Performs equally well with compressible and incompressible data; Large DRAM cache; Dynamic Write Acceleration; Data Defense and RAIN technologies; AES 256-bit full disk...
Write speed drops when SLC cache is full
I used this in a new machine, so I can't compare its performance to anything else, but it's definitely very fast. It's cheap enough that there's no reason to save ($) and get a worse drive. Buy this one.
Item as described. Good performance.
