Creative are trying to convince us that 2.1 is not the way to go with PC speakers, preferring a straight-up 2.0 approach. But does this work in practice? We bang out some funky beats to find out.

5 out of 5 for these excellent desktop speakers. The sound is fantastic – with plenty of power (volume), I cant use max volume as just too loud! (lol), Sound is full and defined – i could not be happier.

High fidelity, balanced sound, and handles base very well. Performance is better than the Bose Companion II speakers they replaced. Also the Bose speakers failed after 15 months of occasional use and they had no on-off switch.

Although 2.1 speakers seem to be the standard for desktop PC audio solutions, that doesn't mean that this is the best option. It is possible to get great sound out of a 2.1 set, but often you end up with a distinct lack of cohesion due to a poor quality cross over and overbearing subwoofer.
