Although it doesn't look like there's going to be a Mario Kart 9 any time soon, the Switch is starting to grow its own roster of licensed karting games in a way not seen since the GameCube days.

The kart racing genre has seen a resurgence as of late. After being brought back with gorgeous "fur-k" visuals in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, the marsupial now has been given an overhaul in the racing department.

With Crash Bandicoot and Spyro getting excellent remastered trilogies these past couple of years, we're in a renaissance of mascot-based gaming. Ever since the release of the N. Sane Trilogy , fans have wondered if Crash Team Racing would get a remastered version as well.

Crash is back again, and this time he's revved up to the max in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, an authentic Crash Team Racing experience that's been remastered in stunning HD and so much more.

Top game, good old fashioned fun and reasonably priced

It’s pad-rippingly difficult at times, and the track design does show its age when compared to Mario Kart 8 or Team Sonic Racing, but Beenox has done a fantastic job in updating this much-beloved racer. This is definitely a project for players who are desperate for a dose of nostalgia this summer, though, as youngsters schooled on Mario Kart will likely rage quit before they ever get the hang of the game’s slick power-boost systems. For 90s kids who’ve already smashed through Spyro and cleared Crash’s N Sane trilogy, though, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a must.
