DO NOT BUY

go for the next one up, if it wasnt for the wireless N not working this would be an amazing WAP

Clean GUI; lots of options; multiple SSID options; PoE; can run in a cluster with other ones so no need for a controller which is amazing and a very slick wallmount to hide cables

for Wireless N it straight up doesnt go above 1mb downstream; found tons and tons of forums on this and cases open with Cisco and they did not fix it; works up to 15mb when N is disabled; upgraded to latest firmware and still not fixed; its just not worth half the money it costs

From an IT Professional, this Access Point was great. It was easy to install, easier to configure, and it works great for the client I installed it for. Before installation, their wireless network was weak, at best. Now, the entire office has a strong WiFi connection, and it didn't break the bank.

Works fine at upload speeds. Max download speed after disabling N band was 20Mb on a 100Mb connection. Much slower when N enabled. 2 yrs of Cisco support logs show it is a know problem and no fix.

Good

This product is an AP so it works differently then Router. If you don't know how a AP works you might not be able to set it up sucessfully. However, once you sent it up, it is a good AP.

If you liked what you saw in Cisco's WAP321 [ reviewed ] small-biz access point, but want a less-expensive, single-band alternative and don't mind giving up a few features, then the WAP121 is for you.
