L'Eau is an attempt by Chanel to draw a younger, trendier audience to No. 5 . Although I smell enough of No. 5 on women in their twenties in Paris and notice its constant presence in the top 10 best sellers, it is still somewhat of a cult favorite. L'Eau goes for wider appeal.

Too Expensive

I sprayed on my wrist and smelled it. To me, it has a harsh, strong, cheap, irritating smell for about an half hour. Then is mellows and smells like Chanel No. 5. For anyone purchasing this that currently wears the real version.

This is my go to frag. This smell makes you feel confident and of course you smell great! It last longer then some other fragances. Nothing out there can stand next to chanel

I have only one thing to say about Chanel No.5 in EDP (manufactured July 2014): MASTERPIECE. To me, there are no specific notes I can single out, but the scent changes and transforms as it warms up on the skin, revealing new undertones. Close to the skin it smells different than at distance.

My whole impression will take place on the famous No5 itself, but I have this opportunity, while I'm trying Eau Premiere these days, to write about this flanker briefly. No5 Eau Premiere in one sentence is bright and sheer version of No5. Imagine if No5 was a plant, Eau Premiere would be the twig...

My No. 5 perfume literally spoiled and went sour because I couldn't bear to use it over the course of a few years. What a shame to waste such a pricey bottle of juice. All I can say is I'm one for unique, sexy, and sophisticated fragrances that nobody around me wears or can pinpoint.
