I am just coming back to astronomy after many years. As a spotty youth I had a 3" refractor of dubious quality.

I've been an active amateur astronomer since my teens (that's over 40 years now) and I also was employed by Celestron as their customer service manager from 1976 to the end of 1978.
This is a fantastic telescope have not got to use much cause of the cold and cloudy weather but have got some great pictures of the moon in the day time and the night time and some good Jupiter pictures also I would so recommend this line to anyone looking for a very easy and fun telescope
Accurate; Compact; Easy to Use; Quality Lenses; Strong Construction

First light - WOW! Great scope, great optics. StarAlign system works as advertised. On clear, calm night, the scope will split Capella A and B with the 25mm eyepiece that comes with the scope. Did a lot of research for a new scope and this one is a no-brainer. Only issue - an AC adapter is a MUST.
GREAT OPTICS; STURDY TRIPOD
BATTERY POWER ALMOST USELESS
This is my first real telescope and I chose this over the often recommended Dobsonian because of portability. I bought a Barlow and Zoom lens which should satisfy my needs for a while. The GoTo function is awesome and set up is easy.
Fairly portable; Quality Lenses; Strong Construction

The NexStar 6SE delivers a lot of capability for the money. The flexibility of this mount means you can swap in other tubes, too.
Compact; excellent optical performance; simple to use; portable; big value/dollar
Cost; power hungry; unable to do long exposure photography
I have had the 6SE for about 3 months now and have had many nights of enjoyable viewing from my backyard. I have found no need to collimate. The scope arrived well packed and the optics were right on straight out of the box.
Amazing Price! Saw this telescope in a retail store for $500 more. So glad I checked online and saved myself the money. It really does do everything it says, and more! I went out with my astronomy group and one of the members said "it's got great optics".
I actually bought this telescope to continue my love of astronomy, I have had mine about 6 - 8 months and despite the weather being very overcast and cloudy at times, you can do some daylight as well as night observations.
To take pictures of the sky. I have yet to use it since it wasn't sent with any lenses. It feels like it is made in a superior way. Not the type of telescope for beginners. I have yet to get it up and running since I am still waiting on parts.
