Carmageddon: Max Damage (PlayStation 4) Review

Like the original games, each of the races is set in an open world area, loaded with iconic monuments and stadiums, while pedestrians roam the streets. Classic Carma mode has three different ways to win a race: either by being the first car to complete the laps by following checkpoints, killing all...

Carmageddon: Max Damage Review

feels like it was designed in and for the year 1999, which on paper is a noble goal when trying to revive a franchise. Unfortunately, in practice it just doesn't work, instead reminding us that time moves on.

PS4 Review: Carmageddon: Max Damage

I briefly played the original Carmageddon back in 2000, but it was the highly censored version where pedestrians were replaced as zombies and somehow had the brains to jump away from your oncoming car, although running them over was still fun…I would have loved to play the uncensored version but...

Carmageddon: Max Damage PS4 Review

When Carmageddon was released on the likes of the PlayStation and N64 in 2000, these console versions weren't very well received at all. Carmageddon: Max Damage is actually the first Carmageddon game to be released on consoles since 2000, and is based on Carmageddon: Reincarnation, which was first...

Carmageddon: Max Damage review – Armageddon out of?here

Another failed attempt to revive a franchise whose time seems long since passed, especially given how frustrating and unrewarding this reboot is to play.

Running over pedestrians and totalling opponents is never not going to be fun; Some amusing power-ups and upgrade options, and the sandbox style maps can be interesting

The driving model is never very satisfying, the graphics are awful, and the game quickly becomes repetitive and boring; Very limited online options

Carmageddon: Max Damage

There are six metallic wrecking machines warming up their engines behind the starting line. They're lined up on a backroad somewhere in the far distance, but everyone knows that after the first turn the track will be full of pedestrians.

Carmageddon: Max Damage – review

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. If Broken Age is Kickstarter's poster boy for videogames, then Carmageddon: Max Damage is the deformed monster they'll want to keep locked in the basement.

Carmageddon: Max Damage Review – Drive, Smash, Kill, Repeat

Carmageddon: Max Damage is not a game for the faint of heart. If you're not okay with running over wheel-chaired pedestrians, cheerleaders, and dogs – you might want to hit the back button on your browser. Still here? Great.

Lengthy single player experience; Large assortment of unlockable vehicles; Amusing power-ups

Vehicles don't control very well; Terrible AI; Painful load times; No one's playing multiplayer

Carmageddon: Max Damage has no right to be this adequate

Alan aims for Max Damage in a souped-up version of last year's Carmageddon: Reincarnation.

You can do naughty car stuff and no-one calls the fuzz; The power-ups elevate the game from silly to silly with power-ups; There's lots of blood

Car handling is fairly abysmal, making some missions unbearable; It looks a bit poo

A great reboot.

I loved the Carmageddon games back when I was a kid, and this is a sort of fan developed reboot. It looks brilliant, and the gameplay is almost as you'd expect.
