Returned camcorder for two reasons. Most imp. Was the colors even in bright light were muted. Deep red looked light red and sometimes pink. Yellows were dull. Tried vivid setting with no sig. improvement. The still photos were taken but not stored. Could not retrieve them.

This camera is clearly a consumer one, takes good pictures and you can shoot up to 35 Megabytes per second in MP4. Navigating through the functions can be a little confusing at first, but once you get use to it, the navigation is not too difficult.

First time Canon customer here. I found this camcorder to be very user-friendly and packed with features. The quality of the video that this camera produces is excellent. Having a mic input is a big bonus!

I bought this unit to replace a 3 year old Canon Vixia HF M52. I spent a few weeks trying to squeeze quality video images out of it, but it's best wasn't even close to my old M52. Be aware that it also does not give the option of shooting AVCHD material.
