PMA 2009 was a show distinctly light on noteworthy announcements, but one of the most technically interesting developments may well have slipped under the radar of many enthusiast photographers.

Excellent central sharpness even at F3.5; Minimal chromatic aberration; Almost no visible distortion; Extensive and highly flexible perspective control movements; Exceptional build quality

Soft corners when shifted (need to stop down to F11 - F16 to achieve best sharpness; Expensive

It costs a fortune (US$ 1100) and weighs a half-kilo. It's not sharp, being an SLR ultra-wide-angle in addition to spreading its meagre resolution across a medium-format image circle.

Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II Tilt-Shift Lens Review

The Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II Tilt-Shift Lens is, optically and physically , the highest quality 24mm Canon-mount lens I've reviewed to date. Owners of the not-much-older Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens can rest assured that their 24mm lens is a match physically and...

Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5 L II - Review / Lens Test

Now it's not overly surprising that the lens is capable of providing a very high quality based on a neutral shift setting. But what about the extremes then ? There is, of course, a decrease in image quality when shifting the image frame towards the edges of the image circle.

Canon TS-E 24mm f3.5L II

With both tilt and shift movements, as a wider version of the earlier TS 35mm f/2.8 SSC FD, the original Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5 caused quite a stir when introduced in the early 90's.

Shift on Site, not in Software. Here's Why:

The reason most people give for not investing in this top tier glass is that perspective correction in software is a cheaper and an efficient option. While it is possible to straighten lines and scew/distort images in software to get a desired result, most people are missing the main point of these...

Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II review by Kenneth67c

I was looking for a lens which was flexible enough to shoot buildings and landscapes, without having to correct for keystone errors. Well the only way to go is to get a TS-E lens. I read the reviews and feedback from users, and this is THE 24mm to get.

Extremely sharp to the corners; no CA; low distortion; tilt & shift

Cost; large filters

A Strong Quality Product

[...]The lens is everything I expected after extensively researching different lenses and reviews. However, I did experience one event that nearly gave me a heart attack. While moving some of my gear around on Christmas Eve, my mother accidentally dropped this lens.

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

My workhorse lens

I have owned this lens since it was first released a few years ago, and it is permanently attached to one of my 5D MKII's. As a dedicated architectural photographer, I use this lens for 90% of my commissioned work.

Superior build quality; Super-sharp images
