Good camera, shame about the selection wheel !
The SX50's selection wheel is located on the back of the camera and is difficult to use. It is the outer ring of a three layer control and trying to select aperture value or shutter speed or set exposure compensation is virtually impossible without pressing the self timer section of the inner ring...

Could have been the best.
If you go back and buy the cable so you can read the instruction manual, you still have to take your computer with you so you can read the manual. My computer doesn't fit in my camera bag.- Great zoom with lots of options
