Sadly Disappointed
Despite the glowing reviews by camera websites and users, I was sadly disappointed by the very soft pictures; my 5 yr old Panasonic was much sharper. Fortunately I was able to exchange it at BB.

PowerShot SX260HS Fails
I bought my SX260HS camera on January 11, 2013 looking forward to taking many pics of my grandkids in an upcoming visit. I practiced with movies, snapshots, etc until I felt comfortable. Then, just 7 days later, on Jan 18, I opened the camera to take some more practice pics.
Pros:
- easy to use
Cons:
- Flimsy Construction
- failure of warranty responsibility

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS Review
Last year bridge cameras became overly popular because they had far reaching zooms and the DSLR look that appealed to most audiences. However, a sub-segment of cameras also started gaining popularity and this genre of cameras came to be known as travel compacts.

The Canon PowerShot SX260 is a travel zoom camera that packs a 20X zoom lens into a compact and stylish package. The lens is probably the highlight of the camera, with an impressive range of 25 - 500 mm. As with other cameras in this class, the lens is on the slow side, especially at full telephoto.

- camera will select the appropriate IS mode for the situation, High resolution 3-inch LCD with very good outdoor and low light visibility, Built-in...

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS
The Canon PowerShot SX260 HS ($349.99 direct) is the successor to the very solid SX230 HS ($349.99, 4 stars). Like its predecessor, it features a 12-megapixel image sensor and a built-in GPS, but adds a longer 20x zoom lens (up from 14x), without increasing the size of the camera .
Pros:
- Compact
- Sharp, long zoom lens
- Integrated GPS
Cons:
- 1080p video captured limited to 24fps
- Loss of detail at high ISOs
- Priced on the high side

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS
For a reviewer, it's always nice when the new version of a product you liked actually gets better. That's the case with the Canon PowerShot SX260 HS. The previous version was very good, but thanks to changes in design, performance and features, the SX260 is an excellent compact superzoom.
Pros:
- Shooting modes for every type of photographer from casual to advanced
- A useful long zoom lens with excellent image stabilisation
- Overall excellent photo and video quality for a compact superzoom
Cons:
- Menus and controls can take some getting used to
- Short battery life
- Photos get noticeably softer looking indoors or in low light
