It's secret confession time. I put my hand up for this review and, frankly, did everything I could to get my mitts on Canon's new S95. I had to discover if the S95 could dethrone the G11 as ‘the professional's compact camera'.

Canon S95 Digital Camera Review
Considering there really isn't a lot to complain about with the S95, we may as well scrap the bottom of the barrel a little. Images tend to underexposure a little when there was a large highlight source in the composition such as the sky.

Canon S95 Digital Camera Review
Just like a first impression of someone walking down the street in a business suit, it's very easy to overlook and underestimate the depths of the Canon PowerShot S95 at a brief glance.

The Canon S95 is not designed for a beginner, someone who wants photos of the kids and dog. At first, the controls are confusing, one is never sure where the function you want is located. There are 13 physical controls including two adjustment wheels and some combination settings.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- small size
- array of functions
- fast operation
Cons:
- Need to read manual to get the hang of the camera
- Expensive at regular price
