Good One
It is a better camera than a regular point and shoot, but costs more and is worth more. Just if you have the money to spend, I would recommend to friends.
Pros:
- This has the larger sensor than the run of the mill point and shoot Canons
- I have used my G9, which uses a similar sized sensor, for about four years and it is great for portraits and snapshots as well as panaramas.
Cons:
- It is small and you might lose it, whereas a big DSLR is never to be lost in its big bag and all the lenses
- I really can't think of a reason to buy a big camera, unless you need to take professional pictures of highest possible quality, which most family pics are not

Oldie but a goodie
This is my second S100. The first got washed with my hoodie because I forgot it was in the pocket. The perfect "the camera you have". This was bought as an interim camera but I will keep it as a carry around. Solid build. Pretty good ergo. You can get third party grips etc.
Pros:
- Easy To Use
- Fast/accurate auto-focus
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- Good in Low Light
- Small / Compact
- Solid
Cons:
- No Viewfinder

Disappointed.
Camera stopped working shortly after purchase. I was in a hot and humid climate on vacation and that is the only reason I can think for why it stopped functioning properly, but regardless it should not be an issue. Disappointed.

Canon PowerShot S100 review: Canon PowerShot S100
The Canon PowerShot S100 is a generally great little camera for advanced shooters who don't mind slowing down a bit from a dSLR.
Pros:
- A great little camera with advanced features, the Canon PowerShot S100 builds on the strengths of its excellent predecessor.
Cons:
- As a trade-off for extending the zoom range to 5x the lens' aperture narrows very quickly as you zoom out. And there's no improvement over the S95's so-so performance, despite the price increase.

Canon PowerShot S100
This little black offering fits into the smallest pocket but can take HD video as well as rather nice still images. Even if you have a larger and more powerful unit, this can be ready even before that comes from the bag.

Pretty bad quality camera...
As a faithful Canon User i am disappointed!!! I like the design of the camera and judging from the predecessors S90 and S95 I hoped that the S100 will be a pinacle of point and shoot cameras, but I was wrong...
Pros:
- Good list of specs if it works
- HD videos
- The camera feels sturdy and i like magnesium alloy casing feels good to the touch
Cons:
- Severe Quality issues
- Battery life
- Pretty slow to start to focus to zoom
- The images are not sharp
- autofocus sometimes just doesn't do its job
- No optical viewfinder.....

Canon PowerShot S100: Where it all began...
[NB: My camera is branded Ixus, but the S100 is absolutely identical except for the name, as explained in the introductory section of the review.] == Introduction == Canon's range of Ixus digital cameras has been highly successful for a very long time now.
