This is an excellent pocket camera, with a lot of adjustable functions. Yet, one feature I liked from the previous versions of Canon - "date stamp" is missing in the G type camera.

Great little camera with high specification, simple to use and great conectivity
I bought the G9X as a more pocketable camera (compared to the 5D3 I already have) for when out and about. Although the image quality of the Canon 5D3 is phenomenal, I'm still really impressed by the images from this little camera.
Bright LCD; Comfortable Controls; Easy Setup; Easy To Use; Great Picture Quality
Short Battery Life
Great camera; Image quality amazing; Battery life lasts long
Slightly difficult to hold sometimes with the touch screen; No flip screen a but of a pain
amazing camera, great for intermediate skilled photographers
Makes photos transfer to computer much easier since the Wi-Fi feature didn't work.
Good Image Quality; Good in Low Light; Large Clear LCD; Nice Body Color; Small / Compact
Wi-Fi Setup Doesn't Work
I like how tiny it is and yet it is easy to use the buttons; Nothing feels too squashed
I don't like that there is no easy way to get photos to my computer; I had to buy a memory card reader, which is not a bad thing to own, but I would have preferred if it had come with a cord like all the other cameras I have owned.
Photographers pay a premium for compact cameras with 1-inch image sensors-Sony's most expensive pocket model, the RX100 IV , sells for close to $1,000. Canon is attempting to slash the price of entry with the $529.99 G9 X, but it's still a significant purchase, and its performance is likely to...
Sharp lens; 1-inch image sensor; Very compact; Lens control ring; Touch-sensitive LCD; Fun Creative Shot mode; Wi-Fi
Limited zoom range; Narrow telephoto aperture; Largely touch-based control system; Slow when shooting Raw; Video tops out at 1080p30
The Canon PowerShot G9 X provides a photographic edge over your smartphone's camera (for still images), without taking up too much pocket space. It's svelte, with a surprisingly robust case.
Compact design; Handy touch screen; Fine image quality by day and night
So-so video
The Canon G9X is the smallest 1-inch sensor camera to date. Slip it in a pocket and you can forget it's even there, but pull it out and you have the great image quality of a 1-inch sensor on tap.
Smallest 1-inch sensor camera available; Slips in a pants pocket almost unnoticed; Bright lens at wide-angle; Great image quality; Swift 6.5 fps JPEG burst shooting; Intuitive touch-screen control; In-camera Wi-Fi gets images onto your phone easily
Limited 3x zoom range; Tighter wide-angle than competitors; JPEG buffer limited to 10 frames; very slow bracketing / raw burst shooting; Touch-screen menus take lots of tapping; Poor battery life
