Canon PowerShot G7X MKII Digital Camera 20.1MP 1" CMOS Sensor, 4.2x Optical Zoom f/1.8-f/2.8 Lens, Full HD 1080p Video Recording at 60 fps

Good camera overall, albeit expensive. Pros: - Generally good image quality and easy to use. - Small and comfortable to hold, the grip on the right side feels good (if you are right handed).

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is highly admired by its users for its small and beautiful design. The most loved feature is its long battery life that saves the user from the frustration of frequent charging. However, there are some concerns over the autofocus that struggles with close-up shots.

Small in size plus it is very easy to handle; Digic 7 Processor offers fast 8fps burst shooting; Available at an affordable price as compared to other models; Long battery life which means there is no hassle of frequent charging; Equipped with a 1.0-inch large sensor that can capture dynamic...

Autofocus needs to be improved; Relatively few buttons for manual controls; Video quality is only limited to 1080p; not 4K

Canon G7 X Mark II

These days, with powerful smartphone cameras, it is less compelling to carry a separate compact camera for casual photography. This was what I discovered when I received the review unit of the Canon G7 X Mark II from Canon Singapore. I brought it around with…

Canon Powershot G7X Mark II G7XII review

Performance improvements raise the G7 X Mark II's grade to excellent, as long as you're not looking for a lot of frills.

The Canon PowerShot G7 X II is nicely designed with good photo quality for its class; and improves noticeably over the earlier model.

Still lags behind the competition with respect to features and some aspects of performance.

Canon Powershot G7X Mark II G7XII review

The PowerShot range is only one step down from their DSLR offerings; however they are small enough to fit in your pocket but are still extremely powerful units that have a large number of features that started out in their DSLR models.

Canon Powershot G7X Mark II G7XII review

When the Canon PowerShot G7 X was released, it didn’t have much in the way of competition. Now, the idea of a pocketable camera furnished with a 1in or Micro Four Thirds sensor, together with raw shooting and plenty of manual control, is a bit less special – and if you’re happy with a...

Responsive touchscreen; Pleasing JPEGS straight out of the camera; Sound AF system with effective focus tracking

Lack of built-in viewfinder may discourage some people; Soft results at wider focal lengths; Video capture limited to full HD

Canon Powershot G7X Mark II G7XII review

A trusty premium compact that’s held back from greatness by a few missing features

Lovely chunky build; Photos are bang on the money; Reasonable zoom

No viewfinder; No 4K video; More feature-packed rivals at this price

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II review

It’s a tough old time for compact cameras. Canon’s G7 X Mark II is good at pretty much everything, yet it's still not the kind of device you should buy no questions asked. The competition at this kind of price is absolutely ferocious. For sheer point-and-shoot convenience, this camera is almost untouchable. It’s lightweight, has a decent enough zoom and takes a great photo. If you’re not that fussed about 4K video - maybe you don’t have a 4K TV yet - then it’s only really the lack of a viewfinder that’s holding the G7 X Mark II back from a five-star rating. So while it’s frustrating that Canon doesn’t push the boat out a little bit more with its premium compacts, there’s still precious little to complain about with this effort.
