Professional shots without professional price tag. Truely amazing photos!

The Canon Powershot G12 is the ultimate compact camera for underwater photography. The quality of photo taken are the best in the compact range. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants a professional looking photo without the professional price tag.

Canon PowerShot G12 Digital Camera Review

Canon makes their range of digital cameras simple. The G12 is a solid, feature enriched camera for a solid price. The quality of image and video is good and at the higher end of it's market's cameras and will satisfy most users.

Excellent Stepping Stone Between Point-and-Shoot and DSLR

If you're looking for something with more versatility than your current point-and-shoot camera, but are not yet prepared to make a commitment to all a DSLR requires, then look no further than the Canon PowerShot G12.

Great camera

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my SLR and wouldn't trade it for the world, but there are just times when I don't feel like or its just not possibly to carry a full sized body and lenses with me.

A compact that puts you back in control

I wanted a camera that offered full manual controls while still being small enough to be an everday camera and the G12 fits the role perfectly. Being able to shoot in RAW was an important consideration as was the ability to add on an external flash when the budget allows.
Pros:
  • Reliable
  • Durable
  • Superior build quality
  • Easy to use

Canon G12 scratches its own lens

I like it for so many reasons. But if Canon won't fix this, it's not worth owning.
Pros:
  • I love this camera
  • Lots of pro-level control, small enough to carry with me always
  • I agree with the many people who rank this one highly
  • That's why I bought it, Except for the fatal flaw, noted below
Cons:
  • The lens cover blades scratch the lens
  • Incredible, but true
  • I compare with every G10, G11, and G12 owner I meet, and scratches such as mine are common, Canon, how can you do this, and not acknowledge it

Highly recommend!

We wanted a camera with a vari-angle LCD, so we went with the G12. Excellent choice. Love the quality of the pictures although I will say that it sometimes takes a bit longer than I would like to focus on the subject (although the continuous shooting mode

Good camera but get insurance

I purchased this camera for $379.00. I had to buy a smart card because it only came with a 16 meg card and a camera bag for a total of $421.00. BestBuy didn't mention insurance and I did not buy any insurance.

Canon Powershot G12: excellent compact camera

I wanted to look for a camera that take relatively good pictures but not too bulky to carry around for travelling, after doing some research I have finally decided to settle for this one, I was not disappointed!
