Canon PowerShot G12 Review
While not without flaws such as the AF responsiveness which is a little problematic in an otherwise eminently capable camera. The G12 is not cheap either but the camera's creativity and versatility are key and make the G12 – and the G-series cameras as a whole – ideal as pro's back up or an...

Canon PowerShot G12
As long as you're happy paying a premium for the Canon name, the G12 is an excellent do-almost-anything camera. Its main weakness is that it's almost identical to the earlier G11 model.
Pros:
- Great video quality
- Articulating LCD screen
- Excellent image quality
Cons:
- Screen is not colour accurate
- No real improvements over the G11 apart from HD video
- No external mic input
- Expensive compared to competition

Canon PowerShot G12 Review
No surprise here - the Canon PowerShot G12 is an excellent camera with HD video that will appeal to loads of enthusiasts. But - and this is a big but - for around $100 more you can get a Sony NEX-3, a very compact camera with a much larger 14.2MP APS-C sensor, interchangeable lens capability, 720p...
Pros:
- Very good picture quality
- Low noise even in very low light
- Tweaks galore
- HDR a great option for still subjects
Cons:
- Expensive
- Too much noise at elevated ISOs
- No dedicated video button
- May be the end of an era

Canon PowerShot G12
UPDATE 04/07/2012: with its 1'' 20-Megapixel sensor, the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 sets a new standard for picture quality in compact cameras, both in terms of detail and digital noise.
Pros:

- High-quality design and build
- Digital noise incredibly well handled up to 1600 ISO

- Optical viewfinder lacks precision and can be uncomfortable if you wear glasses

- Inferior burst mode and video mode
- Grip handle isn't deep enough

Canon Powershot G12
The G12 offers impressive image quality and performance all round. A great camera for experimenting creatively and is likely to appeal to those wanting to step up on their technical skills.

Canon PowerShot G12
The G12, which updates the acclaimed G11 , is an option for those who want better pictures and better features than a less well specified compact will deliver, but don't actually want to go the whole hog and plump for a DSLR.
Pros:
- Vast array of manual controls
- Exceptional build quality
- Tilt and rotate screen
- Accessory shoe
- Excellent image quality
Cons:
- Below average video mode
- Bulky for a compact
- Expensive

Review: Canon G12
If you're looking for a high performance camera with great image quality, you should get a digital SLR, right? Well yes, DSLRs are top-drawer picture-takers. But they're bulky and they weigh a ton.
Pros:
- Tank-like build feels like it can take a pounding
- Tons of external controls on the camera body will bring out the pro in you
- Locking down the resolution at 10 MP means it's a better performer in low light
- Very good 720p HD capture with stereo sound.
Cons:
- Even lower-priced competing models offer higher-resolution 1080p HD video capture
- Only digital zooming during video capture degrades quality
- Imaging sensor is still tiny, though other advanced compacts have gone big
- Antiquated menu system

Canon Power-Shot G12 Compact Camera
My wife gifted me this camera on my birthday and it was a good choice. I am not a professional photographer, but wanted a camera which is slightly above the average point and shoot camera . The price in India when we bought (around a year back) is around 28K INR.

After having many cameras over the years, compacts, SLR's, this Canon G12 camera produces the best quality images I have ever seen.
Pros:
- Great picture quality
Cons:
- Size and weight
