Canon G12 Digital Camera Review
The Canon G12 is such a substantial camera, that it feels wrong to title it simple as a "point-and-shoot." While it doesn't hold a candle to fixed-lens juggernauts like the Fuji X100, its size, customizability, image quality, and accessory options-not to mention price-make it far more than a simple
Pros:
- Chockablock with manual controls
- Ditto for hardware features
Cons:
- Disappointing color accuracy
- Heavy distortion at the wide angle

Hands-on Review: Canon PowerShot G12
Canon's PowerShot G12 is one of a group of recent cameras aimed at photo enthusiasts who want a take-anywhere camera that provides full creative control. and better picture quality than one gets with a family-oriented digicam.

Canon G12 Review
Everyone who owns a G-series Canon loves it. If I was G shooter, I'd have a G12 on order right now because the new little front dial is a very big deal. I prefer the Canon S95 , which I already bought and own and does the same thing, or better, for half the size and weight, and a lower price, but...
Pros:
- Landscape
- nature and travel photos

Addition: I will continue cutting the score to a second The reason is that I was disappointed with the picture quality. I thought at first that it was me who did not take pictures correctly but is now starting to realize that the camera is indeed so.

Canon PowerShot G12
Just a few years ago, the PowerShot G12's predecessors were the cat's meow-Canon's point-and-shoot G Series cameras looked and felt like digital SLRs, with manual controls and optical viewfinders packed into smaller-than-D-SLR bodies.
Pros:
- Very good image quality for a compact camera
- Optical viewfinder
- Manual controls
- Articulating LCD
Cons:
- Pricey
- Bulky
- Small sensor for such a big camera

Canon PowerShot G12 Review
At an MRP of Rs. 31,995, the G12 is costly. Entry level dSLR cameras are cheaper, and will give you better results. The G12 is as good as, or better than, most compact cameras, but it is also pricey enough to warrant second thought. At this price point, an ultra zoom would be better value.
Pros:
- Well built
- Wealth of manual controls
- Fairly good image quality
Cons:
- Expensive
- not value for money
- Entry level dSLRs are cheaper
- and give better results
- Noise is noticeable from as low as ISO 200

Good camera but get insurance
I purchased this camera for $379.00. I had to buy a smart card because it only came with a 16 meg card and a camera bag for a total of $421.00. BestBuy didn't mention insurance and I did not buy any insurance.

Canon PowerShot G12 review
The PowerShot G12 sports scene modes and custom colour modes, and it also includes an HDR mode. It's a very good camera overall, but its picture quality is not up to the standard of an interchangeable lens camera, nor a digital SLR (such as the great Canon EOS 60D).

- Plenty of manual features
- good image quality
- versatile lens
Cons:
- Grainy image quality
- noticeable lens barrelling
- shutter button is poor
- rear buttons feel cheap
