Canon PowerShot D20 review
Rugged, waterproof cameras are perfect for the chronically clumsy, but Canon seems to have a more glamorous group in mind for the D20. Its sweeping contours look like something we'd expect to find in a surf shop, especially in the blue finish we were sent for testing.

Canon PowerShot D20
After 3 years, Canon have updated their waterproof camera, the D10. Now, the PowerShot D20 comes with a larger 5x optical zoom, the same 12 megapixel resolution and a slimmer, squarer body. The sensor has new HS technology for good low light performance and there's also a 3 inch LCD screen.

The Canon PowerShot D20 is a rugged waterproof camera designed for use outdoors in the kind of environmental conditions you'd hesitate to take a conventional camera. It's waterproof to a depth of 10 Metres, dustproof, shockproof and can be used in temperatures from -10 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Pros:
- 5x stabilised optical zoom
- Designed for purpose
- 1080p24 video recording
- built-in GPS receiver with track log
Cons:
- Very poor continuous shooting
- Poor noise handling
- No 'door open' warning
- Relatively expensive

Great Clear, editable shots underwater!
We took a trip to Belize, decided not to purchase a housing for our current DSLR. The reviews outside of QVC were mixed on this one. It took an hour or so to familiarize myself with the in's and out's of this camera. Once you have it in the water - WOW!

[REVIEW-CANON POWERSHOT D20]
This 12 megapixel indestructible compact comes with a 28–140mm zoom and is a successor to the D10. Canon have replaced the weird but attractive body form with something more conventional in shape, although it still has some inexplicable curves and dents.

Canon PowerShot D20
Canon has finally got round to expanding its range of waterproof compacts with the PowerShot D20 (the D10 was launched at the beginning of 2009, after all).
Pros:
- Waterproof to 10 m
- shockproof from 1.5 m
- Excellent macro mode
- Good image quality up to 400 ISO
- Clear
- user-friendly interface
- GPS with journey tracker function
Cons:
- Handling could be improved
- Photos with flash are slow to save
- Lens doesn't give the most even results at wide-angle settings
- From 800 ISO
- noise management is a bit disappointing for a BSI CMOS sensor
- No A,S
- M modes

Found this very easy to use in all situations. Still getting used to all the features but the image quality is brilliant. My wife loves it too.

If you need a point and shoot camera to fill the photographic void in-between a DSLR and your phone, get the Canon PowerShot S100. But if you need something more durable and love Canon, get this camera.

Good quality, interesting deign
Got this just before Christmas and have tried it underwater already and it works well. Design/ handling was a little hard to get used to with the strap being on the wrong side. A bit heavier than I expected but overall good quality and reputable name for getting those special moments captured on...
